i think if they make a ME4. the destroy ending will most likely be cannon

1 thing is clear. They will have to pick 1 if they want to do a sequel. While in theory railroading all ending into one (after, let's say, 100,000 years) is *technically* possible, I can't even imagine the level of retcons/nonsense railroading they would have to pull of to bring all those 3 endings into one. And now we also have the new Reject ending which is even more different than the other 3 (since most if not all of the galaxy was wiped out)

Reject is the only ending that has ZERO chance of being cannon

Now: 9

But I'd like to add id like a reunion dlc and would pay for it (dang it)... you could have just had a scene of shepard's LI finding him and fade to black... still leaves imagination open, but better clarity. That said though, I'm fairly satisfied.

Before doesn't even rate

Now: A solid 6 (7 for the destroy ending, 6 with all endings). Had I not witnessed pre-EC ending, it would have been a let down. But now a 6 for ME3 ending brings me joy.

Assuming we're using the full scale here:

EC = 7 - Definitely above average and a good way to end the series, with a decent amount of variety and difference in the endings that reflect your character's journey more appropriately than before. It's brought down by the premise that drives the ending, which in my opinion felt like an 11th hour addition and didn't really fit the narrative established in the prior games.

(I picked destroy)

Original endings: 2 out of 10 (2 because there is always a way something could have been worse)

New endings: 4 (they clearly improved it stylewise but the endings are still lacking in substance and logic. Clear case of style over substance....)

Before: 1/10

After:
Control: 3/10 - I'M A SPACE GOD, HEED MY CALL AND DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO!
Synthesis: 1/10 - Lol, green coloured DNA, organic energy and "synthetics = understanding, organics = technology.
Destroy: 4/10 - Still bowing down to the Reaper Space God and killing synthetics because he demands it.

Catalyst: -10/10
****ing hell, get got even stupider in the EC.

Oh, yes, forgot the "rejection" ending: Haha, never been trolled that hard in my life, I must say. Good show BW!

If I accept that they absolutely had to work within the contstraints of the original endings (which I don't, they just didn't want to move out outside them) it would get 6. Synthesis being shown with no negatives at all and no reunion drag that down from an 8 or 9.

Overall game goes from 4 to 7.

Original, 3/10

They broke the 3 rules
Narrative Coherence, plotholes ,than even if the big ones were fixed dozens are still small enough that together form a gaping hole.

Talky techni. No explanations as to why some things work and some things dont. Destroy destroys everything, but control only contorls some things? massive break in their own rules.

Character groundwork:
....we all know they left us to die.

EC:

5/10 They fixed the major plotholes, but still the 3 rules are completely broken. PLus more plotholes are apparent now.

Control and Synthesis easily get a 10/10 with EC. I'd give Destroy a 7/10 with the EC but Destroy I always thought was the best ending in the original. but Refuse 0/10 but I often forget 90% of the time that thats even an option

Before?  Total garbage, I don't even want to rate it.

Now?  8/10.  It has redeemed the game series, at least, but that's it at best.  ME1 had a 10/10, ME2 9/10, ME3 8/10.

Hoo boy...

Before EC: 1
After EC: 4

It fixes most of the crucial plotholes (though not quite all), but it's still a pathetic ending, since it seems to force you to admit that Synthetics are the problem (or else refuse and lose everyone you cared about). Thankfully they leave just enough room IMO for some mental gymnastics and headcanon to allow you to reject the Starchild's faulty logic and perhaps still pick the destroy option (if you view the death of EDI/Geth as a necessary sacrifice to stop the Reapers, since the Catalyst warns that the Crucible "does not descriminate," rather than viewing it as a murder necessary to stop the tyranny of Synthetics as the Catalyst suggests), as well as a reunion with crew/LI, but the lengths to which you have to go to get there mentally are an indication of the weakness of the EC; there should have been more latitude in the dialogue to let Shepard express those opinions in the game, if you so wish.

I have yet to decide if those mental gymnastics are sufficient justification for me to be able to push through additional playthrougs. I do know that it is not enough to restore my faith in Bioware's storytelling or give me the confidence to entrust them with my emotional engagement. And since I cannot trust them, I refuse to buy their products or act as their advocate ever again.

original:0 (it genuinely was the worst ending I have ever seen)
new:4/10. It's a lot better, but it's still a really bad ending. Points for providing some closure.

before - 0/10. too many plot holes make those endings impossible, point, blank, period, the end.

after - 0/10. too many plot holes make those endings impossible, point, blank, period, the end.
