Original 1/10
Extended 6/10
It's much better compared to what it originally was though the Star Brat is still a really stupid reveal and Synthesis is still incredibly dumb and Control is incredibly needless. The lack of a reunion brings it down though the heavily implied one is okay. I guess. If that's they way it has to be.
Ending before and now: on a scale of 1-10

Pre EC: 2 I didn't much problem with three options (though the lack of explanation for Synthesis was really bad), but having a different colour as the only different outcome is a too little. Plus, I hate with a passion starbrat, and there were plotholes.
Post EC: 6. Different epilogue (I liked the different outcome of Control based on Shepard's morality), some plotholes are still present though. I didn't expect that Bioware would've removes Starbrat or making the same content for the ME2 LI, so I wasn't much disappointed for those things.

Before, 4.
After 7.5
I still disagree with the premise of the ending, but that being a given it was improved greatly on many fronts, especially in the case of individuality, conversational options, and attempt at a logic explination.
People who hate the catalyst, just hate him now. Those that say he makes no sense are just ignoring what he says. Is his reasoning flawed? Perhaps, but at least now he actually reasons.

Before: 2. The worst ending to an otherwise good game in recent memory.
Now: 8. I still have some gripes (no Harbinger bossfight or destruction cutscene, especially). However, my biggest complaints about the original ending were corrected. My favorite game series now has an acceptable - if not perfect - conclusion. I'm content.

The game is playable again. Before EC I had basically put it in storage. But now I may import more ME2 saves and play through again. I sure hope BiowareEA learned something from all this. I sure hope they don't try to put multiplayer in DA3....

(My biggest gripe is that Star Kid has weird pseudo logic in the pre-ending, and now he has this weird pseudo metaphysical logic.

EC, 3
Still way to many plot holes and bad writing involved.
Game as a whole I give an 8 that could have been a 10 with a great ending.

Before: 0/10. An abomination. The worst ending I have ever seen: I mean ffs you switch the main antagonist, and don't get me started on the out of character moments and gaping plot holes. Your decisions meaning nothing didn't help. Then there's the fact that the galaxy is destroyed.
Now: 5/10. Plot holes have been mostly fixed up, and the galaxy is no longer destroyed. It's drawn out more which is good. Unfortunately you still have the main antagonist switch with a character never seen before, and still your decisions play no role in anything. Certainly an improvement but I wouldn't say I like it.
That said I have not seen either the Destroy or Synthesis endings. I'm sure Synthesis is as dumb as it sounded and was before; Destroy with Shepard surviving (and assuming the Brat was lying about the Geth) might actually be the best ending, but right now I'm going with Refuse or Control.
