Shouldn't that be the first question Shepard asks the Catalyst?
Why is the Catalyst in the form of a child that has been haunting Shepard in his dreams?

Actually his first question was something along the lines of "Can you tell me how to stop the Reapers?"
Which was like asking Hitler if he could tell us how to stop the ****'s.

I believe it is a similar situation with the geth interface, taking a form you would recognize.

Taking a form of a person that was somehow important to him, something ala Contact.

That doesn't make sense, the Catalyst should have taken control of Avina and use her image as an avatar.

That was also a question I wanted asked. Heck, even I even take 'The devil can take on a pleasing shape' or something like that.
