1) How did they get the Citadel to Earth.  Did they bring it through a relay?  If the alpha relay couldn't handle an asteroid how did it move the Citadel.  But even if it did move the Citadel to the Cherron relay, how did they get it to Earth so fast before anyone noticed it was gone.

No distress calls, the reapers came in took it over, routed the defenses, and moved it to Earth before anyone was aware it was lost.

2) This is nitpicky, how was the alliance allowed to even have an FOB that close to the beam, I would think the reapers, especially before Hammer came in just would have come down and wiped them out.

Disclaimer.  I was satisfied with the EC, nothing can be perfect or without plot holes, so I'm not just trying to find stuff to crap on the game about.  Just legitimate questions I had while playing both versions.

1) The Prothean VI says the Catalyst "enhances dark energy transmissions" so that leaves open the possibility of enhancing the effectiveness of the relays in transporting it. Speculating further, we see the Citadel closing itself above Earth, so perhaps the Catalyst and the Reapers moved the Citadel through the relays in smaller sections.

2) Shepard explains this to EDI before the London mission. She says the Reapers underestimate humanity, they think they've already won. Furthermore the Catalyst says in the EC that the Reapers aren't interested in conflict, but harvest. The Reapers probably think it's convenient to have a FOB close to the beam.
