I know there's the option of asking who he is...but then if you reject the ending....it's a Reapers voice?
I'm now confuse........

Did I miss something? There's threads and threads...and threads but I'm not really finding answers except - meaningless arugments

It's the Reapers' creator. Makes sense to me that they would have the same type of voice.

So he didn't just turn into a Reaper when you reject him. So why did he change his form to a child then?

No. It's an AI created by an ancient civilization that took it's programming far too literally and turned them into a Reaper.

No, the catalyst was created before the reapers, the catalyst created the reapers in order to fullfill it's programming.

It said it was the Creator of Reapers (at least that's how I understood it)  but then, when you reject him it's all sudden has a Reaper Voice.

This ending - I'm not sure how serious were supposed to take it. Since I get the feeling the Developers are saying "FU" to the fans who hated the Concept of Casey Hudson't Artistic View

It's the embodiment of all reapers. Also how come it has to have a reaper voice. Why can't reapers be talking with the voice of the Catalyst, the Catalyst was first.

It was probably just talking to Shepard in a voice that was less threatening.

To be more approachable - otherwise Shepard would have shot it immediately without trying to talk to it.

Also, it could be an image projected into Shepard's mind by the ancient AI hence to make contact with ... what do the Reapers think of us.... Ah! yes "Rudimentary creature of bone and flesh"

It is also a giant middle finger to people who didn't like the endings, but that thing is a Reaper. I've said it from the beginning. Now we have confirmation, and not just in the voice. When it explained what it did to its creators it solidified its Reaper status. It reaped them. There's nothing else to it.

He is all of the Reapers. The Reapers are part of him like your white blood cells are part of you.

imo i think hes that machine devil that was mentioned regarding the being of light theory

what if the machine devil ( not devils) made the reapers to prevent the evolution of synthetics by harvesting organics?

He clearly said he's not their creator at all. He says he's a combination of all of them in one form. SO yes, he is a reaper.

He is all the Reapers. He explicitly
states he is the collective Reaper intelligence.

I don't understand why this revelation does not cause more support for IT. The Catalyst lying has been a big part of the theory.

Not a Reaper. The Catalyst was designed to be a peace broker between Organics and Synthetics. It tried doing its job but the peace always failed. Then it decided that the created will always rebel against the creators and abandoned the conventional ways of creating peace. Instead it forcefully turned its creators into the first Reapers (betraying them) in order to carry out its cycles.

It's possible that the Citadel was actually intended to be a seat of government for the Galaxy as well and not the death trap it became under the Catalyst.

The Catalyst said that it and it's creators searched for a way to end the conflict between organics and synthetics, but found failure over and over.

So the Catalyst existed long before there was a reaper. Then finally the race that created it in a final effort became the first reaper.

So if the race that created the Catalyst became the first reaper and the Catalyst was already in existence, then technically the Catalyst cannot be a reaper.

It's actually worse as I stated just above.  The Catalyst hints the Reapers was its last ditch effort and not its creators.

You're not alone. The Star Child is a Reaper and a lying little piece of sh*t. It has a vested interest in preserving the Reapers and destroying anything that threatens them. Even if Shep wasn't indoctrinated, there is no reason to trust it.

The IT, is interesting. IMO it would have been better if Bioware rolled with it, in fact they could have "refined" it and made it better. There's some things I didn't agree with.
