After playing Dragon Age on my ps3 I discovered the witcher. It has tons of moraly ambigous choices and has received good reviews. Right up my alley. Alas my computer is not up to snuff. (The only game I can play on high is Baldurs gate with my crappy graphics card.) Dose anyone know if it will ever get ported to consoles?

It was being ported to consoles, but there were contract issues with the team handling the port or something and the ported version was cancelled. I'm not sure if we ever found out exactly what happened.

Perhaps the sequel will be multiplatform.

Doubtful, its a foreign game made by a small company. Best advice, ditch the kids stuff(consoles) and graduate to real gaming(mouse+keyboard). Upgrade your computer, then you can play all "the Witcher" you want.

Uh, what? There's rare occasions where PC versions are released later but it's more common that games are PC only.

Only if you count Xbox games.

True. But see, a pc is so much more fun.

Considering the fact that development on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has begun, a console port of the original is highly unlikely.

The team that was making the port was laid off.

Okay will the sequel be ported to the consoles. I dont really know why they wouldnt. If it got good press I think plenty people would buy it on console at least enough to make it worth while. Dragon AGE could have been pc only And I never would have been able to buy it.

I don't believe they've said whether it will be ported or not. The only thing that's been confirmed is that they're making it.

Oddly, Witcher is one game I could easily see hitting the consoles.

Maybe. It's unlikely though.

They want to release a console version at least. The question is if whichever publisher funds them feels the same way. Time will tell.
