They didn't recognize that there was a single being above all others which gave them the orders?

It's hard to tell 1 trillion from 1 billion with just the naked eye. So yeah, I'd say that they didn't realise the difference between 1 Reaper and 1 fleet of Reapers, because Enormous Mountain and a thousand Enormous Mountains are equally off the scale for an ant.

In general, Bioware's behavior (artistic integrity, lots of speculation from everyone, artistic vision, etc). In particular:

- Auto-dialog
- Fetch quests
- Holster weapons
- Journal
- War assets being just a number
- One hub world
- Animations
- No neutral dialog option
- Backgrounds (eww, look at the Citadel ones, I've seen better ones on PS2)
- Blatant deus ex machina

I have a list.
  • The terrible beginning: lack of explanation and context; no trial as promised; abrupt; tries way too hard to tug at my heartstrings.
  • ME2's ending makes no impact on ME3 besides a couple of EMS points.
  • Cerberus went from "we'll take any means to make sure humanity is safe!" to "KILL EVERYONE." Also, Cerberus' involvement is so trivial. You could replace their activities with the reaper enemies and everything would still be virtually the same. Total missed opportunity to make use of Cerberus.
  • The Crucible's existence was lazy writing. "We have conveniently found a Reaper-off switch when they invade us!"
  • The lack of LI interaction, regardless of who you romanced.
  • Missed opportunities on Thessia - it could have been way more than killing a couple of reaper enemies and then getting thwarted by Kai Leng's plot armor.
  • Little to no interaction and use of ME2 squadmates. Gigantic missed opportunity.
  • Auto-dialogue and the lack of a neutral option.
  • Fetch side quests.
  • The existence of right clicking on the galaxy map to obtain more EMS rather than actual side quests
Basically, the only parts that didn't reek of rushed script, bad writing, and missed opportunity were Tuchanka and Rannoch, save for Tali's ****ty face reveal.

Ah, I forgot: The fact that after 2 (?) years of absence you can't have a proper converstion with Ashley on the Normandy. Just a ME2-Kasumi/Zaeed-Like text line from her.. WTF?!??

The whole crucible logic/story line was terrible. In addition, I felt more like a gopher in doing ****** ante tasks more than the previous games, especially the system scans and outrunning reapers. The whole EMS could have played out better with actual units on the ground instead of just on a video cut scene.

Everything except tuchanka and bringing peace to geth and quarians.
hate the 'eavesdropping' conversations with no facial expressions, hate do many characters; Ashley, vega, Kai leng, traynor and so on. Not keen on the new galaxy explore system. Planets all have the same descriptions(minor issue I suppose). ME2 had 12 squad mates! ME3 should have at least that many. Why can't I edit squadmate armour how I want it. Hate the lack of hub worlds. Hate the promise of adventure when none is delivered. I was led to believe I was going to help out on the Elcor home world. I scanned the planet and mission accomplished. What is that all about. There's plenty more but I'm tired.

One of my biggest complaints: the music. After the epic epic music from ME2, why are we given this forgettable cliche piano rubbish an amateur could knock out in his sleep?

The quarians attacking the geth in the middle of a reaper invasion, then firing at a vessel WITH THE ONE HOPE OF DEFEATING THE REAPERS ABOARD..

man if tali didn't commit suicide after, i'd probably let them die every time lol.. well nah i like some quarians, but hate most of them b/c of this bull****..

they are like spoiled little brats.. UGH. The fact that my shepard doesn't go into a fit of rage about them starting a war with the geth (before the whole firing with me on board thing).

I also hate some of the unexplainable stuff throughout the game that pushes the limit of the ME lore (beam me up scotty type citadel entrance for example lol.. why do the reapers still attack if we forged peace with synthetics, which is their whole reason for invading, at least give us a chance to see if they will attack each other)

I'm going to have to go with Kai Leng as my least favorite part of ME3. That and the dumbed-down planet-scanning, **Alert!**..no wait the Reapers are coming!!

Definitely Kai Leng was the worst. I would like my Mass Effect universe silly-space-ninja-free, please!

Seriously, they sucked this game. Spent one half of the game not trusting you and the other half in the hospital.

Auto-dialogue, fetch quests, N7 Missions were lackluster, linear plot, Kei Lang, Priority: Earth, lack of polish on the game as a whole. The Garrus/femshep romance was intergrated into almost every conversation the two had.  Why weren't the rest treated that way? Thane romance. (definition of "dropped the ball").

Worst part of ME3 was after Thessia all you could do was talk to Liara. She watches her planet fall, thinks all Asari culture and history is gone. No hug for Liara. Tali finds her dad dead in ME2 and she gets a hug....come on....why no hug.

That is a very specific and very interesting complaint. One I haven't heard before.

Doesn't Liara get enough?

Auto Dialogue

Lack of Hub Worlds. What happened to taking the fight to Illium and Omega and the other hub worlds. No, Noveria doesn't count, neither does Earth, and fighting on a moon orbiting a hub world is worse. Though I did like the scenery porn in that level. (Or I guess Scenery Gorn considering a world is burning.)

Very Bad journal system and fetch quests. At least make the fetch quests have some sort of combat in them instead of going to system A planet X.

Side-lined Squadmats. (i.e Miranda, Kasumi,) Most of them were shipped on a bus, except for Thane, who got hit by a bus.

Really weak in so many areas - most of which have already been listed. What irritated me most were the horrible side missions...it's really not even accurate to call them missions when you can just swing by the spectre office and pick up the "quest" items. I feel like they got the newest intern in the building and told them to just make a bunch of busy work for us..."Just run them around the galaxy a bit and they can get chased by our cheesy Reaper ships! Our fans are such tools, they'll never notice were trolling them!"

The new Journal was awful. Also, anything to do with Vent Boy. Give him a name, a family, cut every scene apart from the one with the shuttle blowing up and that would've been good.

1. The fact that there were just a bunch of fetch quests like in DA2. If I pick up a Kakliasoaur fossil, I want to see that paid off other than a line of dialogue. If I rescue the elcor, I want to see that paid off. I feel that a lot of these fetch-quests were going to be more dedicated side quests (like the N7 or Cerebrus mission packs) but they ran out of time.
2. The fact that you didn't make any decisions like Mass Effect 2 which would determine who lived and died. (i.e. "We need a tech expert to go through this vent"). I never felt like I was making any decisions. There is no strategy whatsoever.
3 The fact that I was largely stuck with boring companions (James, Javik, Kaiden/Ashley) and none of the crew from Mass Effect 2 (other than Garrus and Tali) would be on your crew. They even came up with all sorts of lame excuses to not going the Normandy. (Samara: "Oh I have to go where the battle is heaviest." As if going with Shepherd isn't enough. Zaeed: "I have no reason." Kasumi: "I'm a coward." Grunt: "No reason. It's not as if Wrex wouldn't loan me out to help on a critical mission with Shepherd" And so on)
4) The fact that it seems that there are portions of the ship which are unused. Why is the life support area open if nobody is using it (where Thane was in 2)? Why does the bathroom open up? Why is the basement of engineering only used once or twice (where Jack lived). Why even animate it? Just block it off if it is so useless and spend those resources on something else.
5) Diana Allers. Literally wasting space that another companion could be filling.
