My biggest complaint: Not seeing Kal'Reegar again and fighting with you in this war.
They decided to randomly kill Kal'Reegar to make the game more dark and edgy.

The inconsistency with which Reapers go down: one destroyer takes a whole fleet another takes a man portable missile.
The FACT that Shepard can now apparently survive molten metal shot at extreme velocities.

Auto-dialogue, Cerbederp, lots of choices not mattering, linear mission order, Crucible.
Don't forget Legion's character integrity assassination, as well as poor implementation of all non-dextro ME2 LI's.

i agree with your second two points. But i feel like Shepard was involved with the war, he just wasn't on the front lines. This isn't Call of Duty.
True. However, there could have been side missions when back on Earth, such as rescuing civilians or soldiers that were captured, or even destroying a genetic harvesting varient, in an attempt to gain war assets. Mostly it's an issue of exposure. We have all these Reaper codexes, but a lot of them are never exercised within the game.
Now that I would have liked to see. I think there was just too much for one game to fit in... perhaps ME3 should have been a two part event? (Two games i mean ;p)

Followed by all the fetch quests to replace side quests.

Oh boy. You think the outcry was bad now? If they had split ME3 into two separate games, I'm pretty sure the forums would have gone off like a nuke. I'm loath even to perform the thought experiment.

Honestly, I'm willing to bet that a lot of the original ideas/concepts/scripts were scrapped in the final version of ME3. Heck, we were supposed to fight TIM as a super husk, similar to Saren in ME1, but BioWare decided to scrap that for whatever reason. Who's to say that they didn't originally plan to include secondary missions that revolved around getting the player/Shep involved in the war or the events on Earth?

Her being a LI does not contradict her character, she says her self the code doesn't forbid romance. And she clearly has feelings for Shepard she just afraid to act, she hasn't been around someone who loves her for a long time and Shepard has had a impact on everyone in the crew to some degree or more ( like Jack joining the military). And after what happens to her in ME3, it shows she is thinking about her self and not her code. She goes back for Falere and Rila, and at the end of the EC you see her and Falere on Thessia and they look happy. It seems Samara has taken put aside her code somewhat to be with the ones she loves, she could do the same for Shepard. And no one says they have to settle down, they could be a couple and go off and right wrongs in the galaxy.matchboxmatt wrote...

That the squamates and LI in ME2 where just cast aside in ME3. I wanted Samara back as a full LI and squadmate. One of the main reasons I got the game.
She was easily my most favorite character in ME2. I wish she was as introspective in ME3 as she was in ME2, but she's relatively tame. I would have definitely appreciate more characterization and dialogue from her.
I don't think as a LI it would ever work though. That highly contradicts her character. Though I do think something along the lines of "a close friend" would have been nice.

I'll defer to those with more knowledge about the Harry Potter fanbase as to how they took splitting Deathly Hallows in half. Can't say as I'm familiar (I think I read the first book, maybe?)

Galactic readiness decay. wtf is that even in the game still?
Minor irritation:
I accidentally ended up with Liara as my LI. I was still trying to decide whether I should keep things up with Miranda or go back to Liara, and suddenly I made a choice that "locked me in". Oops.

Because of that, the 2(3?) nightmare scenes were just plain annoying for me.
Man was I innocent back then. I made an attempt at a second playthrough and just couldn't keep going after hitting the first dream sequence.

Synth ending...Tali STILL has her helmet/mask on...even though we previously see a Quarian without the mask. (Ref: Still with Quarian and Geth on Rannoch)
Not to be nitpicky, but that's on a fully developed Rannoch, implying many years hence, after the geth have helped the quarians adapt. I don't think that the synthesis ending meant to imply that the quarians are instantly cured.
