When I played through the EC and essentially through the endgame on Earth, there was a huge amount of times when the sound would cut in and out and squeak. It is a rather annoying bug, I dunno if it has to do with the EC or if this is just something that never got patched (it did happed pre-EC too only not as badly and frequently). Maybe I just need to reinstall the game to my hard drive. Thoughts?
