First things first. For me the problem I had with the endings wasn't solely the plot holes, it was about the plot device and the direction in which Bioware took. So here is my verdict on the extended cut.

Am I completely satisified? NO. But this is a reflection of a vision I had for Mass Effect. It wasn't what I imagined and I am still concerned with the approach they took and the direction it went. But I feel that all is not lost for my vision. 

Do I appreciate Bioware for doing this? More than you can imagine. Doing something such as this took time and effort, and courage and compassion to reach out and lay rest some of the concerns of the community. Not only that it showed that they are listening and do care and value our feedback.

Did it improve the endings? HELL YES. The new endings added some much much value and weight to the end. It may not what have been what I wanted but the thing it did best, that made it worthwhile was the message at the end. This message gave me something that I wanted out of the ending. Hope, not much but maybe just maybe it is enough.

So where do we all go from here? The extended cut opened up new possibilites. They have shown that they can make an ending without that wont turn people who originally liked it away. Maybe they will continue to make more endings that become optional or expand further, I may doubt it but the EC has shown that anything is possible. There is still a future for Mass Effect and its fate is within the hands of us the players and the hands of the people at Bioware. Maybe together we can continue to build/rebuild this franchise to further greatness.

And one last thing. For the community who posed new ideas and contributed, whether it be fanfics, images or anything else. And to the people at Bioware who are listening and value the feedback of the community. Thankyou. The constant stream of ideas, questions, stories and art is something that has made this that much more of a positive experience. So heres to all of you. I look forward to whats to come, keep the threads alive and Build for the future of Mass Effect.
