Really?

I've done a few runs on my QMI, and it doesn't feel that different. Yes, cloak is shorter so it has to be used more carefully, but the damage reduction from the ability itself doesn't seem to affect me a lot... With my Black Widow IV and Sniper Rifle Amp III, it is still 1 shot to take shields, 1 more to land the kill, next.

... and the only Sniper Rifle that was nerfed was the Krysae, right? And not by a whole lot as i recall.

Good, you were probably terrible anyway.

</sarcasm>

If you run the math, the damage decrease isn't very high if you were already using consumables. Or you could use this as an opportunity to respec and try a new build. Maybe a shotgun infil? Duration support SI with Drain + prox mine?

All they did was take away any reason to use a Sniper Rifle on an Infiltrator. Shotgun Infi's won't notice a difference until they try to cap objectives. To the indoctrinated, "balance" means that everyone runs around using either a shotgun or heavy pistol.

Stick a shotgun to the infli.
I actually like the nerf.
I'm a selfish lil twerp so I specced for damage.
Feels more dangerous with the shorter cloak and harder.
I LIKE harder <3

Sniper Rifles were nerfed? Methinks I need spectacles.

BioWare tries to push us to be Shotgun Infiltrators and stopped us doing any damage when we want to help the team with capping objectives. I hate the changes.

There were some cool ideas in the forums but what BioWare did wasn't that cool. Playing a damage oriented sniper can now be done by a human soldier too. Won't make that much difference.

MAYBE, just maybe you should work on your grammar and punctuation so people can understand you. But in relation to the topic, the TC nerf wasn't that bad if you are familiar with the class.

Uhm... Sniper rifles still get a huge boost on any Infiltrator (65 -125% extra damage). And duration was arguably more important on Shotgun Infiltrators (getting close to enemies, flanking). I know I spend more time cloaked while using a shotgun than a sniper rifle.

Still playing my fav SI ... just requires a little more thought and planning. I find now that I was using TC a lot without even thinking about it; now, I only use it when I'm about to fire my sniper rifle or when I'm running into a dangerous/potentially dangerous situation. Damage is still sufficient to get the job done. Other player classes use the same sniper rifles without the extra damage boost; they cap objectives without any TC at all; at least I get halfway through it without being seen (half the time others run to the objective with me and jump in to do it anyway...if I'm talking about you, I've got your back; no problem!); they revive others in bad situations without TC, also. I think the changes actually made me play more consciously. I think those who stick with it and improve their game are just going to be a better asset to their teams. And those who abandon the infiltrator class for another they feel more comfortable with or adapt it to their own needs (i.e., shotguns) will be, too. And, yeah... I'm still getting the job done!

Since I play the infiltrators with all other weapons but sniper rifles, my gameplay really haven't changed as much... yes the drawbacks in the duration for the cloak sucks.. and reappearing during your hacking node objective really sucks... but other than that... duck and cover more.

They simply made your gameplay extremely proactive now... unlike the geth hunters which are still able to remain cloaked for the duration until they are actually ambushing you...

I pity the sniper infiltrators... but at least they still get a boost, better than all other classes in that respect...

Still funny to see the number of infiltrators drop in the lobby for... see more Aguard and Dguard snipers now.

If you have that much problems with the changes the infiltrators have gotten up to now, maybe it is best to do just what you told us and stop playing the class.

Enjoy the other classes and maybe look out for the remaining infiltrators and how they cope with the changes, so that one day, you might try again.

To this day I don't understand why one needs to be cloaked to be a sniper anyways. Just me I guess.

Another one of these threads...

Look. Try your Infiltrator again. Maybe this time without a sniper rifle, but with a shotgun or heavy pistol. I've even seen assault rifles. Maybe try different kinds of Infiltrators. I know my MQI Claymore build won't be hurt that much by this change, so try the other ones out. Try other classes, you never know what you may be good at. If you're really into those sniper rifles, a ton of classes use them well.

No. Balance means every single class is viable and there's not one God class that's the best at every single thing.

Haha, all the poor inf guys. Maybe it's time the start playing a little better, or not?

That's so funny watching them crying like 8 y.o. with a broken toy. I mean, come on, infiltrators have a huge damage bonus, even after the nerf, and people is complaing about a shorter T.C.

I wonder how many of this pros are using only the infiltrator class on gold.

I tried my MQI out with my Valiant III last night (sniper gear I). I respeced for duration and took the 25% damage instead of weight reduction....useless. Granted, I didn't use anything other than sniper gear I, but it was pretty pathetic. I don't understand why BW is pushing the infi's towards shotguns, it doesn't make sense. I guess they view the infiltrator way different than I do.

The MQI is still usable with the Krysae, but without head shot damage the Valiant is going to collect dust. Going to see if my BW V is still usable tonight.

Even with the huge boost they got before, shield gateing made Shotguns more effective on Gold than Sniper Rifle.  Sniper Rifles weren't even overpowered, unlike the Shotguners who could two shot a Brute.  Why nerf something that wasn't OP, and leave the OP weapon option barely touched?  That is my problem with the nerf, that and the duration cut, while I understand the point, was way too much.
