Jowan? That whiny, vapid, selfish idiot? I can't see how someone like him would survive the Joining, that's almost an insult. But yes, definitely Gorim -- he has skill, experience, loyalty and mental fortitude. Shianni seems to be quite a strong person, but that's only half of what makes a Warden, and I don't think she has the combat skill that's the other half.

He is a good man and very powerful.....willing to take responsibility for his actions. If anyone can responsibly handle blood magic he's it. Sure he complains a bit but he certainly has had a lot of injustice and missfortune thrown at him like getting caught in circle politics.

Shianni rocks the bottle. As long as you let her use her weapon of choice she can take down noblemen with one blow. Great for melee against casters.

Ser Cathrien and Sandal leading an army of Dalish. That's all you need. Screw Riordan, screw the Wardens, screw Morrigan and her devil baby, screw the other treaties. This combo, and you own the darkspawn horde, the Archdemon, and finally, the Maker.

Sandal is so badass he wouldn't even die from the deathblow. His awesomeness would also kill the other two remaining archdemons, the rest of the darkspawn underground, then he'd go on to own the Orlesians, quanari, ect.

I would be loathe to use the Right of Conscription for anyone that doesn't have any other way out.

So many of the people the OP mentions will support you anyway even without being a warden its sort of silly to conscript them anyway...

The GW's don't have to use the Right of Conscription to recruit candidates.  Some people are pleased to be recruited.  It's true that your PC ultimately ends up in the Grey Wardens because they're in a tight spot.  However, in the 4 origins that I've played so far (I haven't played either of the Dwarf origins), as long as your PC doesn't outright refuse to join and forces him to use it, Duncan only has to use the RoC once (City elf) and imply that he will use it once (Mage).  In the human noble origin, Ser Gilmore seems quite excited to be considered, and your PC can comment that they wished their father would let them consider joining.  As a Dalish elf I rp'd that I honored the Keeper's wish that I live and represent the Dalish well, and as a human noble, I rp'd that I acceded to the final wishes of my parents; in neither origin was the RoC used.  And, while Duncan probably did have to use the RoC to save Daveth from hanging, it's very clear that Jory was eager to be recruited.

As far as the OP's list goes, some interesting possibilities, but Paedan has a serious case of dead in all my playthroughs!

Duncan was mean not to let Leske follow you to your joining. If he would have, good times would have ensued.

"OK, I won't tell my 'best friend' that I learned blood magic to become stronger and to top it off I will use it on templars and then run instead of sticking there by the person I 'love' then I will be stupid and poison someone important and instead of being honest and saying 'I have no idea how to teach others magic' I'll pretend to teach your kid how to suppress his magical powers, but I will take responsibility so that would make it all Ok right?"

Bottom line Jowan is a complete retard, grey wardens cant be retards. No he did not have any injustice, those are the rules of the chantry and the circle (not that I agree with them) but those are the rules, he wasn't the first nor the last person to ever be tranquil.

Yes! Leske and Gorim would've made amazing permanent party members both.

Sorry, but if you plays the Dwarf Noble and then encounters Gorim in Denerim you understands that he is not an good candidate...
He´s injured in the leg. Foot? Not able to cure. He´s not even intereted to return to the way of the warrior. Sad, but it is how it is.
Otherwise, now that you is THE Grey Warden it could be fun to be able to conscript people so for the sequel I hope it is in.

Jowan is like the mage form of Mr Bean. God knows what would happen with him as a Grey Warden.  Sandal would be more reliable.

I will add two more people to my army, first the mayor of Redcliff ( man, thats nerve, its a pity he rejects you if you ask) and second the ash warrior in Ostagar ( the bandits in Lothering says they saw ash warriors passing)

Just for laughs I will add the stupid bandit in Lothering or the lirium-addicted merchant in Orzammar. I pay for watching a conversation beneath this two.

7. Servant (Human Melee playthrough) -  Who is this guy? After you convince him to fight the guy just starts owning proffesional soldiers. Seeing as he's a servant imagine if the guy was given more training? Wow, would love him to join.

So I was redoing the Human Noble origin to show my friend DA:O (He totally nerded out) and I picked up this bad ass and watched him destroy everything in his path like a demon out of hell.

I was laughing so hard cuz here you have all of these armored and "trained" soldiers getting their faces roflpwned by Howe's men and yet this unarmored dagger wielding servant is a blood thirsty killer.

Maybe he's an Antivan Crow in disguise? Or....

I vote .

And totally recruit him.

I would consider Ruck...if only we could get to him before eating darkspawn for 2 years drives him a little insane....Imagine him with some warden training...I mean he has survived the taint down in the dark roads for 2 years. Imagine the power in him if the wardens got to him before he started eating darkspawn to survive....I was thinking about this on my current playthrough when I got to him
