Human Soldier Concussive Shot or Frag Grenade

I'm making Human Soldier with a Harrier bulid which is better Concussive Shot or Frag Grenade.

It going to be either 6/6/0/6/6 or 6/0/6/6/6 but if you have a better bulid I'd use them.

Note: I hate all of the Soldiers in the game I'm just trying something new.

Frag Grenade FTW! My friend who uses the BF3 soldier (granted, they are a little different than the normal human soldier) gets a killstreak with almost every frag grenade he throws. Concussive Shot is only useful for knocking over unshielded targets and leaving them open for follow up shots, or detonating tech bursts.

Frag Grenade is your best bet IMO, it isn't restricted by cooldown and has far more damage output. I never invest in CS on my human soldier. Many people consider CS to be a near-useless power, and not worth restricting your loadout weight to use frequently.

If you want to know why you should go Frag Grenade: It doesn't trigger the cooldown, meaning you can just use cooldowns for Adrenaline Rush which is the backbone of the Human Soldier.

Not to mention they are quite efficient to have in terms of damage.

This. He's basically right. The only use I've found for CS is on my single player shep. I energy drain shielded targets, use CS to cause a tech burst and knock them over, then finish them off with gunfire.

Don't underestimate Concussive Shot. I use it all the time on my turian Soldier, and it's ridiculously powerful. The quick recast (on the same level as Throw), coupled with knockback/knockdown is quite useful. The Rank 6 upgrade for extra force and organic bleed damage is quite nice, it's one of the fastest-traveling powers, and it curves almost perfectly around cover. Pair it with a Saber (if you have one) for even better results.

Edit: This is how I set up my Concussive Shot. Force & Damage (4), Recharge Speed (5), Shredder (6). Keep in mind, the Shredder upgrade increases force overall, not just for organics.

I used 6/0/6/6/6 for my Human Soldier. At least my AR doesn't need to share CD with another ability, so I can keep it up all the time unless I specifically save it for the shield boost/gate.

Edit - Grenade should be better unless you're looking to spam a ranged power repeatedly. The only problem would be the grenade replenish box.

You've got it perfectly. Unless CS is all you'll be using, then max Frag Grenades.

I go Armor because it is useful against more of the "bigger" targets (most have armor, not all have shields or barriers).  But it is sort of up to you.  For clearing a spawn of low tier-mid enemies the shield might be better.

I've been running 5/3/6/6/6 recently.

The final evolution of Adernaline isnt that dsirable to me, so I substitute the saved 6 points to pump into Con Shot, for those emergency reflex shots, and husk swatter.

I used to go with CC before, but now I'm going with nades.

I've gotten the hang of using nades after playing with the Krogan Sentinel over the weekend (boy, talk about a tank) and found myself using CC much less after returning to my HS. So I promote my HS last night, and I'm going all nades and Adrenaline rush this time around.

I used to hate soldiers too, thought they were boring. But the human and turian soldiers are actually a lot of fun. Adrenaline Rush instantly reloads your ammo, so you can fire two whole clips at a time. The problem is that with the Harrier, you will deplete you ammo very quickly, so stay close to ammo boxes.

I go 64466. Sometimes you want cs, sometimes you want nades sometimes you want ar.

examples for each

cs: single troops, detonating tech powers, great for turning off a geth pyro

nades: groups of troops, bouncing around corners

ar: big boss targets, lots of troop targets

I went 6/6/6/4/4

I tried both CC and Frags but there was always something missing. Now if I miss 10% weapon damage, I toss a CC or a frag =]

I've got one specced for 63566 and the other 60666. Concussive shot has limited uses. But it is very handy to have an ability to force a phantom's animations.

My female soldier, claymore and spamming AR and throwing nades in oh shi situations. 0 in CS

My male soldier, talon/hornet and CS happy. throwing nades in oh shi situations. 3 in AR

So in short take both.
