Grenade Gear can turn those two frags into 7.

My point remains: I can hold a choke point for 3-4 waves straight without moving from cover with Concussive Shot and some judicious bullet use. If you try and do the same with grenades, you'll be out by the end of a single wave. Oh, and good luck getting all seven of those grenades back without running to every ammo box on the map 2-3 times.

Its called a Thermal Pack. You're probably using it anyway to reload your gun since you apparently aren't moving.

I know what those are. I also know that we only have a limited supply of packs per mission. I don't use them myself, because the between-round automatic resupply usally either caps out my ammo or is enough to carry me through the following round. With such a short recharge, high force (which translates to easy knockdown/knockback), and a DoT effect against organics, Concussive Shot becomes my primary mode of attack. My gun is secondary, used for finishing off downed targets and taking out heavies like the Atlas.

At most 3 points in Concussive shot, which has its uses, but in general is not very good.

I honestly want to know why you say this. Because it doesn't do the same kind of damage as a Frag? Because it has a (ridiculously short) cooldown that you're afraid will interfere with your Rush-spam? Something else entirely?

CS is an amazing skill if you know how to use it right, much better than frag grenades imo.

6 CS, 0 Frags. Everytime for me.

For anyone who doesn't know how to use CS well, here's a very good gold build.

That's more or less identical to my turian's build. Instead of Rush, I go for Proximity Mine, spec'd for Radius (4), Damage Taken (5), and Recharge Speed (6). The Mine isn't a primary source of damage; it's there to stagger things like Phantoms and debuff so my Saber and Concussive Shot hurt more.

I'm new to playing the Human Soldier, so I'm curious about the 6/6/6/4/4 and 6/6/6/5/3 builds. I know AR has a 40% DR plus it can recharge shields on Rank 6, so that means we don't need all of the fitness tree?

I find myself using CS vs Phantoms in Gold and even Silver. If a phantom is right up in my face and has survive my guns, it's not good. CS keeps them away, and it's even taken them out from a distance. Up close and personal not many classes can deal with Phantoms. GI melee can, and Batarian Falcon punch can, but I don't know many others.

I see some say Rank 6 for CS isn't working? Or maybe only the organics option works? Please advise.

Thanks!

CS evolution A does not work your CS does not shoot ammo powers, take the additional damage to organics evolution.  I recommend both 6/6/6/5/3 and 6/6/6/4/4 builds.

CS makes you a better teammate, Frag Grenades show up on the scoreboard. If you do go CS, don't go past Evo 5. Amplification doesn't work, and having 3 evo's in frag grenades is better than the other EVO 6 of CS.

But Shreder is awesome anyway. Its strong as throw against organics.

And why CS makes you a better teammate than frags??<_<

CS gives you better CC, which keeps others from getting shot, but it doesn't do a much damage.

And frag can stagger an entire room, meanwhile CS rarely hits more than one target.

Not disagreing with you, I use both myself.

CS's R6 ammo bonus is bugged and should be avoided, yea. In general CS evolves are rather weak so there's not a big deal skipping them for a more versatile build that has AR maxed and both CS and Frags available.

Fitness is a personal pref. It kinda depends on playstyle. Skipping some ranks means you can evolve more powers further, but at the same time every point in health/shield amount also makes the potential DR and shield restore from AR better- allowing you to do a lil more out of cover. If you wanted to make a more frontliner build w/ a close range wpn, I'd recommend evolving AR for hardening and shield retsore and maxing fitness for health/shields- it gives you more leeway in CQC on gold. If ur using a more mid-long range wpn (like the harrier) and thus don't need to be in close quarters. ya can prob more easily afford to exchange the 40% DR AR evolve for the 20% extra dmg evolve, and can drop some ranks in fitness for other powers' evolves. Stick to cover more and unload, and u'll be fine.

Concussive Shot isn't expendable; you'll never run out of it. I am disagreeing with you, because they're different kinds of abilities.

Thank you Flow, UEG, and Mozts. :) I used the 6/6/6/4/4 build with CS Rank 6 Shredder. CS is pretty deadly, and even on gold it make Guardians drop their shields. It works well on Phantoms, but when phantoms are flipping around not much seems to damage them, and CS doesn't do anything. Does anyone know much about the Phantom during her flipping around moves? Frag grenades, when she cloaks and takes cover, finish her off fast. I'm new to playing the HS, and it's a fun character

What gun are you using again?  Use grenades after AR to break barrier and then use cs to stagger her and finish her gunfire/melee

imo CS is more useful than grenades.

Saves you from difficult situations. I play HS almost exclusively and I don't leave home without. Run into a marauder --> CS before he melees you, bump into a hunter ---> CS before it stunlocks. Need to kill a phantom CS, shoot, CS, shoot and so on. I find gredanes are too unreliable.

Disruptor ammo III + CS just destroys things, expecially Geth but works well on all the factions.

Well... Concussive shot is good for barriers and detonates cryo, incendiary, and disruptor rounds.

Here's what you can do, go nades on your BF3 soldier or female soldier and go CC on your other soldier. Both worlds!

Yep, good against Banshees just run and spam CS until it stops teleporting. CS keeps them from renegenarating their barrier and you don't need to take the time to turn aim.

I used Frag Grenades for a long time, but now I'm with Concussive Shot and I prefer it. It's like having infinite grenades, you can have a better crowd control than with grenades, and you can fire one conc. shot when using Adrenaline Rush.

Also, you need to go to an ammo box to fill your grenade reserve, and not all ammo boxes have grenades.

Hi UEG. Right now I'm using a Talon IV.  People tell me to use the Claymore X, and I've done that.  The cd is much slower, and it's a slow gun.  I like fast.  But, I could be very wrong in my approach to gameplay.  I'm very new to gaming.  If I read right, I should AR > Shoot > grenade > CS.

Check this out use the claymore, shoot THEN USE AR and you instantly reload and then shoot, grenade, CS.  Then while you're in cooldown, reload grab cover and recover your shields and repeat.

I keep both, actually. Though I don't play soldier too often. I use frags for heavy enemies or clearing a room though I'm more comfortable with concussive shot since it doesn't require ammunition and since I tend to play "caster" classes it's just another power to throw at the enemy.

I find both extremely useful, that's why I keep AR at 2 (I don't want it to last too long, too dangerous anyway), for the occasional burst damage.

CC is a life saver in term of crowd control and staggering dangerous enemies, and I think everybody knows how grenades are great.

I run 2/6/6/5/6, no complaint.
