I don't see the point in 'artsy' crap.

The only thing that can be considered art is when the artist puts so much creativity, time and effort into the work itself.

Think of Mona Lisa. It has great detail and would of taken time to complete. Like the Milan Duomo. the blue mosque, Topkapi Palace, Cagaloglu Baths, or nature itself like Mt Kenya.

But i really don't get how films or games can be art.

Cagaloglu?  Not familiar with that one.  Better than Cemberlitas?  Blue mosque is amazing.  Used 3 rolls of film just on it.

Cagaloglu is a Turkish bath. Very very beautiful, gives me hope in Humanity when ever i see buildings of true art.

As is Cemberlitas (which, I believe, is older).

She's actually quite proud of that film, and even went so far as to compare it to a Warhol movie. So she seems to think quite a bit more of it. She was also in "Kids," so it's not like she's never done sexual things in films before.

Sleaping Beauty's on my list, but a friend compared the feel to "Chloe." If it's even half as good as that, then it'll be great.

Sex scenes are different then Brown Bunny. It was not simulated sex like in Kids. She actualy gave him head on screen. And had Andy Warhol made that, it would have been his worst experiment. The movie wasn't good. Roger Ebert called it the worst film in the history of Cannes.

And yes she is going to stick up for herself doing that film. Funny fact, they were in talks with Kirsten Dunst to do the role, but when she read the script and learned of the scene, she laughed and turned it down. Chloe Sevigny got conned into embaressing herself for the sake of "art".

Good for her if she truly is proud of it. It shouldn't matter what anyone else says as long as you are satisfied with the result. On the other side of the token, criticism comes along with "experiments" like that film. Methinks its more like a defense mechanism to ward off criticism. Oh well, just my opinion

edit: Oh, and good luck with Sleeping Beauty, if you like it, more power to you.And sorry if I come across as pretentious. It's not intended. I'm just giving you my honest view on a couple movies that literally made me disgusted. Most terrible movies are just so terrible I forget about them. Not so, for these.

I forgot Skyline. That was pretty awful considering the hype it got beforehand.

I'll probably get shot for this, but I absolutely detest 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I hated the long stretches of silence that seemed to serve only as an excuse for Kubrick to show off his effects, which I admit were pretty good considering the time. And while the juxtaposition of space technology and blaring classical music was nice, it just went on for WAY too long. The story seemed to make little sense to me and I refuse to accept anyone who says that it's just 'too deep', because that's just cop out. I recall Stanley Kubrickhimself saying that if someone were to get 2001 completely, then he has failed. While I admire his mission, it doesn't work for me. He was trying to pioneer a new kind of story telling but it just didn't work.

Also 5 minutes of black screen with 'ghostly wails' at the beginning, and 10 entire minutes of an LCD trip is a no-no.

LSD or LCD trip? :)

2001 is definitely not the worst movie. But I get why it isn't for everyone.

WHOOPS, just finished a 2 hour workout so I'm pretty fried. I'll try to salvage this by saying that scene was like staring into a blank LCD screen and you start seeing crazy things from the sensory deprivation.

But the blatantly worst movie in recent memory I would agree with the person who said 'Skyline'. It had a good premise, but it limited itself by feeling like it was the slower part of a really good alien movie. The entire movie was the group hiding out in the apartment avoiding the aliens. When they finally decide to make a run for it at the end the movie ends, and then shows what should have been mid-end scenes in comic panels during the credits. It wasn't completely terrible, but the worst part was the fact that it COULD have been something great, but limited itself greatly. It was a bif F*** you to me as viewer because they wasted my time with half a movie, and not even the good half. I think they were trying to hint at a sequel with the end credit panels, but given how terrible the it was, this sequel (which admitedly had a pretty good premise) will never see the light of day.

I want, nay, NEED to see The Ghost. Let me show you why.

www.youtube.com/watch

I NEED to see this movie. Sure, I heard it was crap an had over the top dialogue and cheesy stuff, but man, those movies that try to be serious but end up being cheesy are GREAT.
They deserve their own category!

On topic: ANY of the resident evil movies. Ugh.

It is one of those movies that if you didn't read the book it's hard to follow and I agree that it doesn't get enough flak for that (If your audience can't follow your movie, that's a failure on your part not the audience's).  I'm not sure if Clarke or Kubrick is more to blame for that.  Reading the book, I definitely wouldn't choose it as the basis for a movie, but the story was written for that purpose.

It is a movie that gets hyped a lot and, if you were hyped before seeing it, I could see it being very disappointing.

Good Burger?

Hell Naw.

Good Burger is awesome sauce.

I honestly can't remember what it's that other movie about, the "plot" is so messy and scattered.

Eragon. I'm not sure it was actually even based on the book. Certainly it was so bad it was basically an adaptation in name only.

As it is I don't see many movies in theaters these days, so I therefore don't see many truly bad movies either (as by the time rolls around to watch them as a rental, I can already know what's bad and avoid it).

Also I don't consider movies like Manos or Plan 9 to actually be bad, because they're so bad they've looped all the way back around into being hilarious and good.

Not that I subscribed to your definition of art but you said it yourself

The only thing that can be considered art is when the artist puts so much creativity, time and effort into the work itself.

Thus if a film or videogame was created by people who put creativity, time and effort into making it then it is by your definition 'art'.

Watch the "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinte" segment muted with Pink Floyd's "Echoes" playing over it. "Dark Side of the Rainbow" may be nothing more than some interesting coincidences and the power of persuasion, but I am completely convinced Echoes was intentionally made to sync with the movie.

Well, dragonball must take out a top spot, it was that horrifyingly bad. Heartbreaking even. I mean, ffs, eveeryone knows that doing anything in dragonball takes three episodes and krillin dies.

Any star wars prequel. All star wars prequels. KMN.

Xmen... Yes, i'll say it. Where is Gambit? What the Hell did they do to Rogue? That chick with the purple streak cannot seriously be Psylocke????? wait.. Phoenix is a F@#%ING WHAT??? A mental disorder... Yes. The galactic being with phenominal cosmic powers gets reduced to a freaking mental disorder. FML

i will also add the EVA live action to the list, even though the deal isnt even made yet, because it's going to suck. I have zero faith in the industry.

I somewhat agree. I enjoyed the two first and "First class", hated "Wolverinne" but was able to forgive "The Last Stand" because they not only killed Jean Grey, they also killed Scott Summers.

But Wolverinne... ugh.

The biggest problem for the X-men movies is that it was way to focused on Wolverine.  And they even ruined that with his Origin movie UGH.   I still think 2 was awesome but First class totally made up for it.
also Why post a picture when you can do this?
