[Captain Cornhole]

So I had Mass Effect 3 open along side this really old game called Empire Earth. At the time I had Empire Earth minimized. I accidently clicked on it, since it has no windowed mode it takes up my whole monitor and since the resolution is poor for that game it resizes the windows and programs I have open in the background (chrome, GIMP, wordpad and ME3). 

Now Chrome, GIMP and wordpad are all fine, but currently even though the game say my resolution is set to 17:9 ish (can't remember off top my head) the window is stuck in a perfect square. So when you play you get the plack bars on top and bottom (like you would during a wide screen movie). I ahve changed the resolution, aspect ration window setting but the game always stays in a perfect square.

Any help would be great.
