what powers do you completely ignore when speccing a character?

My Turian Soldier spec'd out of Concussive Shot.
My Krogan Sentinel spec'd out of Incinerate (ultra-tank build ftw).
My Geth Engineer, believe it or not, spec'd out of Hunter Mode... it remains surprisingly functional.

skip inferno grenades, pull on the justicar and vangaurd, concussive shot

Concussive shot on TSol, Pull on the AJA, Tech Armor on the TSent. But really, this is only sometimes. I play with a lot of different builds. And there isn't a power I avoid entirely on every class, only certain specific characters.

I'm more likely to avoid certain characters than certain powers.

Prox mine with the %damage increase to affected target(s) for X seconds is extremely useful
Throw a prox mine at an atlas and watch as it drops super quick

Basically it puts a debuff on the mob that lasts for X seconds, so any damage inflicted on them during this time is amplified.

Its the same as a defense debuff in MMOs



I might give it another chance once I unlock the Salarian Inf. - what class would you recommend best utilizes it

Blade Armor, Tech Armor, Sticky Grenades (sometimes), Biotic Charge on the Asari Vanguard, Decoy. I used to skip Shockwave but now I spec it out...

 im surprised more people haven't said pull like the walrus.

seeing as how so many people dont use fitness i'll propose a previous idea i had as well social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/343/index/12810794. there is a part about changing boss numbers on gold. more machinegunners means more use for fitness and less relying on your shield gate for most of the match.

I don't take singularity ever. Is it even useful? And I only take flamer 3 for my vorcha sol and NO flamer for my Vorcha sent. I do just fine without it. It normally just gets in my way anyhow.

Currently, I ignore fitness on everything except vorcha(health/shields), krogans(health/shields), batarians(health/shields), asari justicar(health/shields), geth infiltrator(melee), Novaguard(health/shields),

The powers I always ignore? Carnage.

Fitness is rarely past tier 3 on my characters.

Soldiers dont get Concussive shot/carnage
Quite a few classes I don't spec Fitness
Vorcha I dont bother with Flamer (max out Fitness so their health is massive)

It's only available on the Salarian & Geth Infiltrators and Turian Soldier.  And you should try using it on all of them, particularly the Infiltrators. 

It works extremely well on the Salarian; Energy Drain for Shields/Barriers, Prox Mine for Armor.  Slightly less useful on the Geth but since the Geth has crap Health, you can drop a Prox Mine at your feet to escape from a group (stagger them) or wipe out an approaching group of Husks (shoot it in the middle of them).

gpost (and others) you should be using proxy mine on every character that has it. It does a ton of damage (even more if fired while cloaked), staggers and debuffs. It is one of the best powers in the game. And oh yeah it sets off tech bursts. It doesn't track like other powers though so you have to aim it. I think this is why some people don't like it, it takes practice to use effectively.

On my HA I had singularity specc'ed out two different ways male/female, one for expand and one for detonate.  Once during a Silver extraction I left a random detonating singularity somewhere and about 7 seconds later the kill feed was flooded with my name, it said Phantom, Phantom, Guardian, Centurion ever since then I sort of liked it...

Did the Wave end?  Because once Wave 11 ends, and the game kills off every enemy, whoever did the most damage/damaged the enemy last (haven't quite figured out which it is) will get credit for killing them.

I always completely ignore Carnage on the Kroguard. He doesn't need Carnage, he is Carnage.

Carnage and Concussive Shot are the only ones I ignore on every character.

For others, it depends on the character/build. Blade Armour on the Batarian Sentinel, Incinerate on the Krogan Sentinel, Networked AI on my Geth Infiltrator, and Lash on the Ex-Cerb Vanguard. Those are the only ones coming to mind right now.

I think I'm going to continue to leave it off my Geth Inf, but I'll respec my Turian Soldier like this:

Proximity Mine: Damage (4), Damage Taken (5)

I think its last one to hit.  Ive sprayed my GPSMG at a crowd of enemies right as the clock ran out and my kill feed lit up.

gpost, if you use it at all, it would be better on your infiltrator. the infiltrator can use it while cloaked. the turian can't use it while in marksman

I think people should specify what level they play (gold , silver, bronze) cause some of the suggesitons i'm seeing just won't fly on gold

Human Soldier -- Concussive Shot
Krogan Soldier -- Fortification
Turian Soldier -- Concussive Shot
Vorcha Soldier -- Carnage

Krogan Sentinel -- Incinerate

Krogan Vanguard -- Carnage

Don't really play Infiltrators or Engineers that much anymore
