I skip grenades. Unless i'm a drell. I don't wanna rely on those ammo boxes like that.

What do you use Thermal Clips for?

Not trying to say you're playstyle is "wrong" or you are bad or any sh*t-talk, just curious.

Personally I love grenades in all shapes and sizes, both from a fun and in-game effectiveness standpoint. (except Sticky Grenades of course)

Thermal Clips are limited to 5, good to burst damage, but not to get constant amount.

And yeah, grenades are amazing on Drell, especially Vanguard, since you can basically ninja them before your Grenades using teammates.

And I also get the inferno ones.
I like variety in my powers, that's why I always get at least 3 lvl in each of mine, with an exception for the Blade Armor of the Batarian Soldier.

I used to skip pull on my drells and focused on grenades, but now with the new gear, everybody is gunning for ammo boxes. I now spec pull for bioexplosion and with reave at 6, it's actually a good tradoff for my playstyle. I can detonate on my own, and my teamates can detonate two of my powers. Oh, and I love the bioexplosion sound :P

Sticky grenade! Absolutely.

I have it to lvl 3 because I might be able to hit an Atlas or Brute with it. Otherwise, it just explodes harmlessly away from most targets.

gpost, if you use it at all, it would be better on your infiltrator. the infiltrator can use it while cloaked. the turian can't use it while in marksman

do you have a recommened build for the Salarian Inf?

not really. i like to use them on any infiltrator that focuses on close to midrange combat. if you're mainly just a sniper, you'll probably just use energy drain all the time

This. I am wondering why so many people leave it out. It varies in my builds for the justicar, but I usually spec it to 3, but more often to 4 (area). I get great results with it (and yes, this is on gold). Especially if you don't have another biotic with you to detonate for you, it is a superb way of wrecking up groups. Reave (staggers) -> headshots to get shield out of the way -> pull -> reave for explosion.

Basically, by the time a group gets to you, they are devastated. Not to mention the minor troops (husks, cannibals, assault troopers, geth troopers) can just be picked out and be used to do damage with explosions to any shielded/armor enemy in the vicinity. Hell I even pulled phantoms and exploded them, you have to be quick and smart about that though, they use their rocket clothing to get back to the ground, plus the power does not work when they are in block stance. I have defeated quite a number of phantoms by reave -> letting them approach while you are firing at them, then bubble for an explosion -> immediately use pull -> reave.

It's only useless against anything with armor, but combined with reave & the bubble it makes your diversity a lot greater, imo. But this of course also comes down to your own playstyle and preference. But I don't find the power useless at all.

Now for things I don't often use, carnage & blade armor stand out the most. For the rest I tend to vary my builds after promoting, never really stick to one build.

Singularity, some grenade powers, Carnage (Krogard), Concussive shot. Usually I put at least 6 points in every tree as class passive isn't worth maxing for ability-heavy classes.

Concussion shot on Human Soldier

Sticky Grenades on Quarian Female Infiltrator

I'd rather skip weapon / power damage than fitness. So many times on gold I've survived where I wouldn't have if I didn't have it.

I never use Prox Mine, so I always spec it out

Prox mine with the %damage increase to affected target(s) for X seconds is extremely useful
Throw a prox mine at an atlas and watch as it drops super quick

Basically it puts a debuff on the mob that lasts for X seconds, so any damage inflicted on them during this time is amplified.

Its the same as a defense debuff in MMOs

I might give it another chance once I unlock the Salarian Inf. - what class would you recommend best utilizes it

Salarian Inf of course :)

I do not know how people can be effective with the Human Adept without Singularity but then there are many different ways to play this game.

Human Soldier = No concussive shot
Krogan Soldier = No Fortification
Batarian Sentinel = No Blade Armor
Krogan Vanguard = No Carnage

Fitness. With the exception of Krogans and Turians (and Drells\\Geths to some point) fitness is the most useless "power" in this game.

Blade Armor off the top of my head. Shockwave in most cases, except for the Bat Sent.

Asari Justicar - Pull
Like Singularity it has no effect against enemy units with any kind of defense.

Turian Soldier - Concussive Shot
My Build focuses on using an SMG and spamming Marksman and Proximity Mine. Concussive Shot offers nothing to the Character.

Vorcha Sentinel - Flamer
While the Vorcha is far more durable than most of the classes I still ignore Flamer. No matter the Character being out in the open for extended periods of time is unwise. So I opt to take Cluster Grenades so I can trigger Biotic Explosions.

Human Male Infiltrator - Cyro Blast
I ignore this Power on this Character because I use the Kishock Harpoon Gun on this Character. As a Xbox 360 Player I find it is difficult to use a Power with the same finger I am using to charge my weapon. So I ignore it despite it's obvious uses and select Sticky Grenades, and max out Fitness.

Salarian Infiltrator - Proximity Mine
Generally I find that the Power does not work well when you use a Sniper Rifle. It is slow moving,  and you can miss your target because you either just missed or you hit a different enemy unit. I may give it a shot after I promote my Infiltrators again.

Concussive shot and Singularity.

Incinerate isn't much use on the Krogan Sentinel at least (it's not much use, period, to be honest).

I'd rather put my points into something that doesn't run out on me. Having to constantly run to those boxes is bothersome.

Well The only powers I ignore are the ones for the classes that use grenades. Then I can just use heavy weapons and just use grenades more often then the powers. Well that is cause all my fav weapons are over weight as if I'm trying to carry bricks of gold all over the place.

Underachieving powers widely considered "dump stats" for various classes:

Krogan Soldier: Carnage
Krogan Sentinel: Incinerate
Krogan Vanguard: Carnage
Vorcha Soldier: Carnage
Human Infiltrators: Cryo Blast (buggy and problematic)
Female Quarian Infiltrator: Cryo Blast
Turian Soldier: Concussion Shot
Human Vanguard: Shockwave (for most builds), Nova (for others)
Batarian Soldier: Blade Armor (No reason to ever take it past level 3 except for CQC builds)
Batarian Sentinel: Blade Armor (Ditto)
Human Adepts: Singularity, but it's not like there's anything more worth investing in.
Drell Adept/Vanguard: Pull (sucks)
Phoenix Adept: Singularity, but again, not like there's anything worth dropping points in otherwise.

Concussive shot, Carnage, Shockwave & Singularity. That's pretty much it. Currently I don't have anything set to use sticky grenade either but I'm not opposed to using it on occasion.

Carnage on the Krogan Soldier. Blade Armor on the Batarian Soldier. Flamer on the Vorcha Sentinel. Incinerate on the Krogan Sentinel. Pull on the Asari Justicar...I think that's it.

on 95% of my classes i have all 3 powers. I specced one human infiltrator without cryo blast but im going to re spec it back in. I always leave out fitness. It flat out just does not help on Gold.

Usually fitness, exept for vanguards. When I use light weapons I ignore the weapon/power bonuses. And while Kroguarding I completly ignore carnage, but set barrier on max defense. You see, I'm making him a tank: 1600/1600 + 30% dmg ignoring. Pure TANK
