If the quarians hadn't started a war with the geth, they wouldn't have turned to the Reapers and thus, the quarians wouldn't have needed stealth systems and there would be more ships; including a Dreadnought; to use to save Earth.

Betrayal. BETRAYAL!

For crying out loud, Tali didn't steal any technology!  Get a clue!

However, I find it amusing that you consider the Quarians' actions "betrayal", yet the Geth siding with the Reapers isn't.  The sheer stupidity of some people on this board still manages to surprise me.

Stealth Drives are human technology and, as far as we know, Tali is the only quarian to have served aboard a human ship.
I suppose they could have stolen it from the salarians who in turn stole it from us but that would be harder than Tali simply discovering how it worked during her time aboard the SR-1 and 2 and taking it to her people.

The geth, in an attempt to survive, went to the only race they knew would accept them. Do you expect them to die for a galaxy that always vilified them?
The quarians started a war at a time we should be all pointing our guns at the Reapers and while you could say that the galaxy hasn't exactly been charitable to the quarian people, which is true, the Reapers will harvest them just as surely as any human or turian.

No, I haven´t fallen in love with a Quarian... Mainly because I usually don´t fall for videogame characters;)
Sorry, bad joke. I know you mean falling in love through the character of Shepard.

Call me weird, but actually I didn't mean that.

To come back to that "Tali stole Normandys tech" - I can't see any proof for this. Even though - I gave her permission to access the Normadys tech. I wouldn't call it thievery if she remembers some of it and uses it to improve the fleet.
So until somebody has undeniable evidence that she did something like this - She didn't do it. Not only that this is just speculation - It would never match her character. She would never do such things intentionally. Therefor the relation to her captian and crew is too strong - as Quarian she knows that a crew must build a community and stand strong together. There is no room for thievery or similiar. She just would never do such things. Its part of her mentality

Geth do not have fathers or mothers. No daughters or sons. At this point, they don't even have emotions. The share no love between two units. They have no identities or subjective memories (til Legion) If one of them falls, the software withdraws and the unit gets replaced. They're a collective. They are indeed at this point very different form the Quarian people.

And you would have sacrificed the Quarians, because you did not fell in love with one of them.
But fortunatly this discussion is hypothetic because what sense would it make to kill Quarians just as Reapers - they share no obvious connection as Geth and Reapers do. (They are synthetic AND carry a reaper code in their software)

So basically it is okay to kill them, because they doesn't bleed? Because they have no indiviudals? The problem is, that they aren't just machines like we know. The are living objects, maybe not by our present definition, but they have a consciousness.  And just like Legion said: Can they be blamed for beeing created by the quarians? Can they be blamed for fight against their extincion?

I like the geth. They're the most rational species in the galaxy. On the other hand the quarians: I don't wanna say that all of them are bad or even evil, but honestly everytime a quarian came along, I have to save his ass.  So it is irrational that I prefer the geth over this whiny wimps? Is it rrational that I want the geth figthing at my side instead of this weak quarians? ( except Tali, who is actually very usefull in combat)

Irrational that you want the Geth fighting at your side instead of the Quarians? Not at all.

Or you could, you know, get peace. And have both of them fighting at your side. Which is the best outcome.

Reeger is one of the few awesome Quarians.

He's the guy alone against the Geth when you save Tali on Haestrom.

And they f***ing kill him off  via some background noise UGH.

Kal'Reegar is one of the most awesome chars in ME lol.

It's a shame when we see Quarians in game it mainly the Government (Besides Tali), who don't show the Quarians in the best of lights.. but which government does lol, if we focused on stuff like, The Council, Cerberus/TIM, The Alliance. Instead of the little guys, those not in power, we'd see them in pretty negative lights too.

I mean, Lia was a lovely girl. Falsely accused of stealing then threatened with "jail" when proven innocent anyway.

The kid on Omega, mugged and stranded, setting up store, going with that attitude that, "The elcoor was here first so I respect his business and won't undercut him on prices."

Or Veetor who pieced together the information on Collectors which would help you on your path in ME2.

When it comes to the "little guy", you know the normal citizens and marines. The Quarians are a very nice race, it's just their leaders and government that let's them down. Like RL lol.

Because love isn't about looks, that's how you can fall in love with someone without seeing their face. Also, it wasn't all the Quarians that shot at you in the geth ship, it was one Quarian who has been at war his entire life that gave the order.

Oh right, Kal'Reegar was this butcher  who tried to blast this poor geth colloss. I cried so hard when the coloss was hitten...
Just kidding. Yeah he was actually a good one, for a quarian I mean.

I have said this many times, but will say it again.

Bioware worked hard to make the Geth look good and the Quarians look bad.

I always loved the Qaurians. They really deserve more love around here.

For me,
Quarians = :wub:
Geth = meh
And no one can say anything to change that. I would have liked the geth if BW didn't try so hard to make them look like the good guys, which they are definitly not. Other wise I wouldn't have picked the destroy ending.

In general, quarians are very nice race. A bit emotional, modest and kind people, caring for others. The only "bad quarian guy" shown in the game is Gerrel, and I don't think that his decisions should make people hate a whole race.

This is essentially my viewpoint as well.

Like a lot of people have already said the Quarians have a lot I can relate too. The Geth not so much. However I did choose peace between the two.

The whole "die synthetics! Die!" thing initially put me off the quarians but I see their point now. Yeah they messed up 300 years ago but they've paid for that. If the geth really wanted peace they should have made the effort or at least allowed the quarians to have their home world back.

I like the quarians because they aren't perfect. It makes them interesting.

Pfft, how shallow. "Oh I can't see her face, why bother with her?"
I typically get with girls based on personality, not looks, and by that measure, Tali is the most beautiful girl out there.

I liked them, not just for Tali, who I liked as a character, but I saw them as ME's version of the Colonial fleet from Battlestar Galactica, fighting to survive in a very unforgiving universe. I also hated how they were treated and looked down upon by the rest of the galaxy, and would be willing to help them since I am a nice guy...such as that one Quarian on the Citadel in ME2 who gets harassed by the volus and C-Sec officer. No one, nor race, should be treated like that.

I guess when OP says selfish, he means going to war when the Reapers are invading? Am I right OP?

The Geth war may be the quarians' fault, but the ones who caused it are long dead by now -- quarians don't live past age 291, right? The present generation of quarians just want their homeworld back as it's the only world their immune system can even hope to adapt to in this lifetime.
