I've just noticed that, upon seeing a particular avatar, I immediately associate the image with any user I am familiar with that is using that avatar (even before checking the name). Usually, I remember the negative encounters the most, so now I instinctively associate negativity with certain characters in the Mass Effect universe.

Every time I see Admiral Hackett, I think, "Man, that guy was an ass," even thought he clearly wasn't. It was just the guy using his face as a forum avatar.

Anyway, this is just something I found interesting and amusing, and I thought I would share.

KFC. I was referring more to how I instinctively react to the in-game characters, as opposed to forum users.

In my country, chickens are the mascot of the main rival of my favorite team...

Sir, your avatar makes me hate you.

I remember pre ME3, everytime I saw a TIM avatar, I expected trouble.

Indeed.  Though people that went to the trouble of getting a custom avatar could be pretty bad as well.

Wait . . .

People with the Salarian avatars tend to be bad for your mental health, as they're almost always batsh*t insane or just plain stupid, and sometimes even both.

Chickens tend to be ****s or apathetic.

As for actual game characters, it's the other way around for me. I read posts differently depending on which character a person has in their avatar.

Garrus is cool, chill.
Samara is elegant, calculated.
Miranda can be a little harsh, but often has a good point.
Liara tends to be pretty funny, typically smart.

So far, this has proven to be the case more often than not.

When someone wears a Hackett avatar on, they are in their dress blues, ready to take the hit.

Get it done commander.

Sword out.

I know when I see a particular thane avatar (not op's) I assume that its going to bring nothing but snide and smart**** comments to anybody who dares say something negative about masseffect.

Husk avatars are best avatars.

Except maybe pony ones, but I don't have any customs, so I can't get one.

I instinctively cringe when I see an Avina Mira avatar because it makes me think of Saphra Deeden.

Edit: Thanks for the correction. Got mixed up.

That's Mira you're thinking of, not Avina. Avina is an asari VI. Saphra wouldn't be caught dead using a non-human avatar.

The thing that strikes me most about the avatars is when you see, say, three people in a row in a thread with the chicken avatar, and I think "why are they spamming their own thread" before realising it's two or three different users.
