I'm not sure I want to know what some people think of me when they see my avatar.

dont really associate them with people apart from happy_daiz and a few other friends not really

Custom avatars I always associate with the person, because they're, well, custom. People with My Little Pony avatars get far more leeway with me than they might otherwise, because their avi's are so darned cute.

In the old ME1 boards (when I was simply "Siansonea") I had the Asari Councilor avatar, and I used it pretty much continuously. In the ME2 days when they started up the new boards, I used the Samara avatar more often than not. Now I use the multiplayer asari avatar, because, well, it's in my idiom. And because I play asari in multiplayer quite often. Truth be told, though, I'm much more like Miranda than any of the other characters, but none of the available avatars for Miranda really grab me. If I could have a custom avatar, it would probably be Pinkie Pie.

Some of the standard avatars are irrevocably associated with certain posters. That one salarian avatar always makes me think of Sympathy4Saren (not a good thing), and most of the folks I've run across with salarian avatars have come off as bratty kids. Which sucks, because I love salarians in the game. I've also noticed that a lot of people with geth avatars have come off as antisocial. Lots of people with chicken avatars are blatant trolls.

I tend to assume that people with Liara avatars are Liaramancers, Tali avatars are Talimancers, Jack avatars are Jackmancers, Miranda avatars are Mirandamancers, and Kaidan avatars are Kaidanmancers. For some reason, I don't assume that with Garrus, Jacob, or Thane avatars.

What are you talking about???  Your avatar is obviously very attractive, proud and noble.  (lol)

Seriously though, I do not endorse Cersei Lannister's past or future actions with my avatar, but rather Lena Headey's performance as Drunk!Cersei in the Battle of Blackwater episode.  I haven't been crazy about GoT's second season, but everything about that episode was on point.

That Jamie Lannister is brilliant! Wait a minute, why does no one have a Tywin avatar yet? That would be boss. As for my own Avatar I should probably upload a custom one at some point, Garrus is good. But. I think a picture old squid chops, Davey Jones would be laugh with my name.

I have never myself recalled having argument with Miranda ones, I probably have but forgot about them. I also do not see many use her avatar though I see many with avatars of her butt. One I always seem to argue with most is people who use Asari and Liara avatar. Always with ones argue with which tend to have picked Asari seem to replicate the attitude of the race in game attributes being condescending, confrontational and superiority complexes of which i also attribute to the race in the game personally.

This sometimes causes less tolerance with people using that avatar than I should be with them and is not being fair on them. Chicken avatars always tend to be more often than not people who enjoy baiting and trolling but is also not fair to judge everyone who uses that avatar with that reputation. It's all just first impression type stuff, more people with same avatar that argue with you tend to get negative connotations with those who use it. Just human condition, bitten by spider might become afriad of handling any of then, fall from tree might fear heights and argue with a lot of people with certain avatar might begin to assume as jerks when see the avatar.

I'll admit I've become type-cast to this avatar: I used to switch up, but the last few times I did people were like 'who are you?' or 'I liked the old one better.'

But still, if I could get that custom avatar to work, I would so become General Tarquin...

I remember how when I go rocking with a Lightning avatar you'ld keep calling me androgynous. XD

I also think the whole users with custom avatars get temp banned more often thing could also be attributed to how long we've been here compared to some who just use the ones from the regular list.

Also a very long time ago (under my old BSN name) whenever someone with a DA:O avatar (not an uploaded character) I expected trouble.

It's not a superiority complex if you actually ARE superior.
