So I have been reading about how a lot of people chose destruction I guess mainly because they wanted to see Shepard live, but I just couldn't bring myself to choose that route. The biggest highligt in the game for me was bringing peace between the Quarians and the Geth and I didn't want to destroy that. Plus EDI would have died also, and I love EDI. I felt that synthesis was the most ideal option to go with, seemed like a win/win for everyone.
Did anyone else go with Synthesis option?
I chose synthesis.

Personally, I believe:
Pros:
1: Geth and EDI survives.
2: The civilizations stored in Reaper form are able to reconnect with the galactic life, making their sacrifice worth it.
3: The knowledge they have can vastly improve the state of the galaxy.
4: The Reapers are a tireless work force, and under a mutual peace they can help rebuild what they have destroyed and repay for their crimes that way.
5: Organics and synthetics will finally be able to understand each other, preventing all future conflicts between them.
Cons:
1: For this peace to happen, people's freedom of choice has to be ignored.
2: The evolution will homogenize galactic life, eliminating diversity. Of course, diversity is what causes schisms between peoples, and schisms causes misunderstandings which in turn breeds hostility and conflict (to note, it is the incapability of synthetics to understand organics that has caused them to attack organics since the dawn of history). If a population is homogenized, they will have nothing to fear from each other - but at the same time, nothing to learn from each other either. So it's really a double-edged sword.
3: Apparently organic DNA taking on a digital and synthetic structure is an inherently bad and "unnatural" thing. Truly, the only unnatural thing is the value meatbags place on their sloshy parts.

You husked the galaxy. Congradulations. There will be peace because there are no longer individuals.

i was going to pick that, but i went back to destroy. Next playthrough i am absolutly going with it. EDI's part in the EC was very touching.

There is absolutely nothing in the EC Synthesis ending that indicates this is the case. Quite the contrary, the EC Synthesis strongly indicates that all Reapers and their husks are freed from their enslavement IN ADDITION to all organics and synthetics being fundamentally reconciled.danby wrote...

its still the 3rd option for me (not counting reject). ive always chosen destroy as i want to see my shep live, but the ending that seems to have the most benefit for the galaxy, for me, is control (but i would have to state a paragon control.) would be nice to see 2 different endings for control depending on paragon / renegade

I wasn't aware the endings varied based on paragon / renegade scores. I wonder what a paragon Shepard choosing the destroy option would look like.

Why the hell do people necromance topics that are in the wrong section to begin with and then for a completely useless post to boost? Stupid much?
