Playing a female elf mage romancing Alistair.  After the duel with Loghain there's an option to allow Loghain to become a Grey Warden.  I'm thinking "Great, neither Alistair nor I have to die to kill the Archdemon now."  But nooooo, Alistair leaves the party if I allow Loghain to become a Grey Warden.  If I kill Loghain or allow Allistair to do so, one of us two have to die to kill the Archdemon.  Either that or allow a demon child to be born.  There doesn't appear to be an upside at all.

Sometimes situations don't HAVE an upside from one's perspective.

The life of a grey warden is sacrifice.

Indeed. "In death, sacrifice."

In this situation, I'd think letting Alistair chop off Loghain's head, telling Morrigan to shove off before you shove your staff so far up her scrawny arse that it will knock her teeth out from inside, leaving Alistair at the city gates to prevent any recklessness on his part, and jumping the archdemon yourself to show Ferelden that an elf (!) and a mage (!) can be the greatest of heroes, would be the most satisfying ending.

But that's just me -- I dig heroic sacrifices. :P

I more than gladly go for the child option. Morrigan is indeed in love with my PC and that ring will eventually see them together again I'm sure of it.....then we'll see if little Urthemiel needs another spanking or not.
