Topic.

All the other goodbyes are kinda generic, "I love you!!"-s, while Tali's is personal and heart wrenching. Shepard has unique dialogue specifically for her goodbye w/ his "Go back to Rannoch. Build yourself a home" line. And Tali's response, her "I have a home", gets me every time.

So why'd the others not get this quality, characterized treatment for their goodbyes?

EDIT: HERE'S THE LI GOODBYE'S! Thanks to ladyinsanity for the uploads!

Tali's Goodbye: I Have a Home
Kaidan's Goodbye: Don't Leave Me Behind
Garrus' Goodbye: We're in this 'til the End
Liara's Goodbye: I am Yours
Ashley's Goodbye: Damn it, I can do this

Preferred Kaidan's. Does help that's the first time (and last in my Control ending)  Shep tells Kaidan "I love you".

Because Shepard doesn't actually tell Tali he loves her. So.... yeah. I saw another topic about this goodbye was the worst because of that fact...

Basically all of Tali's dialouge is in the Rannoch arc anyway, and I don't recall any Shep "I luv U"s there either...

So it may be that a Talimancer Shep never says it at all. :(

I've only ever seen Tali's, so I'm in no place to judge.

The "I have a home" line did get me good, though.

Garrus' "friend goodbye" is baller, I liked the shoutout to the Citadel contest. For Garrus's response to Shep's "I love you" I was SOOOOOOO expecting him to say, "I know."

That would've been pretty awesome, actually.

But I found the fact that the first time Garrus says "I love you" is supposedly the last time he ever sees her again so much more heart-wrenching then Tali's.

Seriously though (not that my last post wasn't serious, of course), that scene made me even more annoyed that there was no reunion scene in High-EMS Destroy. After Tali's heartwrenching plea telling Shepard to come back to her, we get to see... him laying in a pile of rubble, and told "imagine the rest"? Poor show, Bioware.

Edit: Why do people care so much about the phrase "I love you?" It doesn't automatically make a relationship more meaningful when it's said; plus, it's kind of generic and cliche. Personal taste, I guess; I prefer more unique stuff.

And I get that you two, I really do. I just guess I wish that "I love you" was sandwiched in w something more personalized than Shelard's seemig cut&paste dialogue

Liara's "I am yours" was outstanding seeing as we've both said "I love you" multiple times already.

It is very good, isn't it? I play a femshep and rarely even have Tali in my squad, but I just saw it on YouTube today and immediately tears were going down my face.
Some of the others are okay. EDI's is interesting, if very unusual and even morbid. She says, "this platform is disposable" while almost paralyzed, slurring in a malfunctioning robotic voice, sounding as if her jaw is broken. In the end Shepard tells her to go apparently not out of concern for her, but concern for the Normandy, which made me think, just how connected are they? How much distinction is there between EDI the platform and EDI the ship?

That's completely subjective to the player. Ashley, Garrus and James were my personal favorite.

I think they were all good, and whoever you romanced is going to seem the best to you.

Unless you think Ashley's was the best, then you're just stating scientific fact :)
