I would love a dlc with Jack but i am not sure Bioware will do one, i think Jack is only in the game if you upload a save only.

A few pages back there was a dicussion about this.  Theoretically, it would be possible to alter that for a DLC - meaning if you downloaded the DLC and started a new game - Jack would be alive and Miranda would be loyal (so she wouldn't die).

And make the franchise even more linear? Yeah that'll go over well.

Expanding the roles of these two characters would trump any additional "linearity" that BioWare may or may not chose to include should they implement this.

We're just speculating as to how they could do it ... doesn't mean that's how they would ... if they were to use this idea at all.

Having said that, I really hope they use this idea in some capacity.

I still believe Jack was originally intended to be a companion. Why else would they pay so much attention to overhauling her appearance? No other cameo character got the same treatment. Completely changed character model, a spot in the art book, heck her clothes even have weapon slots on the back. Why? Probably cause they made her character model early in development when she was intended to be a fully fledged companion, then cut her back to a cameo.

It makes me sad to think about. Shes one of my favorite characters.

I agree.

The fact that this thread hasn't been un-stickied is making me hopeful. But if ME3 has taught me anything it's to ignore you hope because Bioware will eat it and laugh. So confused.

Important to keep the hope alive!

Trying not to get my hopes up, but it IS likely that BioWare might've recognized the oodles of potential in the various Jack/Miranda scenarios that have been discussed in this thread.

As I said a few pages back: in some ways, this is so natural it can almost write itself.

Either they stickied it to try and gauge reaction, in which case I'll sing BioWare's praises from now until the end of time, or this was accidentally stuck to the top and the speculation has grown and grown.

If that's the case I will weep silently while cradling my Grunt body pillow.

Well, I think it's objectively a bit odd, when you look at ME2, that Miranda and Jack aren't more integral to the Cerberus story in ME3 than they are (compare with Legion/Tali in the Geth/Quarian part of the story).

EDI covers the main Cerberus section of the story in ME3, but for that she works almost like a fill-in type of character. So that  feels almost like a compromise or fallback type of solution because they couldn't figure out how to handle it otherwise, or couldn't agree.

With that in mind, I could see something like this being a way of recovering what was lost, in a sense. And I do think a lot was lost. The main Cerberus arc is much more sterile than it should have been, and sort of... empty.

Well said.

It always bugs me when EDI forces herself into that mission.

Granted, I despised EDIs expanded role in ME3, but as you said...it was a massively missed opportunity.

I mean, you would think some mod or dev would've noticed and said "why is this stickied?"

Not about this. This is potential GOLD.

Someone should make a poll to see how many support this idea.

Totally support this. Unfortunately, not likely to happen because they could "potentially be dead" in a person's playthrough, thus EA is "unwilling to lose money" b/c BW aren't catering to a "wider fanbase."

You know what? This is what made the game great in the first place. I mean, not everyone cared for Liara, but LotSB was an EPIC DLC!!!

So, when will bw or the rEApers disappoint everyone here announcing that they'll never make a Jack or Miranda DLC.

They didn't give a damn about them, I mean, Jack is death in default games and Miranda always dies. They don't have a love scene (crappy dance and fade to black can't count as a love scene), neither a pillow talk. They were shafted in the main game and in the EC.

Keeping Miranda out of Cronos was the dumbest thing bioware made with her. At least Jack got some character growth, but she needed more than 2 talks in the whole game

Anyway, can't a moderator unstick this thread? Everything It's doing is filling us with false hopes. They can't do a DLC for characters that they don't care.

Sorry for saying things like that, but someone has to be the pessimist. I would love and kill for a DLC featuring Jack and/or Miranda, but bw doesn't care about them.

All the ME2 LI got shafted except Tali and Garrus. We spent most of ME2 getting to know them. Now in ME3 we barely get to spend time with any of them. The ME2 LI deserve more than what they got.

How about EDI gets shafted?

Eva's body too damged, so EDI cannot possess it. And remains in the ship. That way Miranda can fulfil the role she was meant for.

Also this would allow Samantha traynor to become Jokers LI (which should have been from day 1 as far as im concerned). the guidence should have been EDI setting up her and Joker.

I agree with dlc for Jack, but not for Miranda.

Miranda dlc would require a) a retcon (because I don't believe Bioware would insert a mission with her before Horizon. The only reason I can see them doing that would be purely for the sake of it, rather than actual storytelling potential) or B) it took place at the very end of the game, which Bioware won't do because it would render the dlc too inaccessible.

Jack on the other hand could have a mission become available after the mid-point of the game, where we could see her students in action in the role we chose for them. If she was dead in that play-through, or Grissom wasn't completed, then she simply gets replaced by another character.

Jack is much less accesible to new players as she is dead in all non-import. Miranda is alive and assuming the DLC is before horizon, it can be played by anyone except the very SMALL number who had her die in ME2. Jack still needs a DLC though.

i agree with OP. how hard would it have been for miranda or jack to acquire a ship and surprise shep with a visit before the final phase of the game? at least let those players get the same "love scene."

This is a purely fantastical idea, but I think it would be cool to play as Jack and/or Miranda, no need for Shepard.

Maybe some self-contained little respective story arcs or a shared one (think Episodes from Liberty City), or even co-op stuff which we know works in MP.

Now to quit before I say something really stupid.

The thing that really got me about ME3 was that all the characters I wanted to get to know better seemed to be shafted!

I was a big fan of the ME2 squad, heck I wanted them all in ME3 (which was never going to happen). When the Squaddies were announced for ME3 I wasn't surprised to see the likes of Thane, Zaeed, Grunt, Kasumi to be omitted. I got the feeling that they should have been with Shep for a short time only. Zaeed was being paid, why the hell would he want to stay with Shep any longer than he had to!?

But the omission of Miranda and Jack for me was unforgivable. Both of these characters ended up having a large impact on the story and Shep, so much so that I genuinely believed that they would be back in ME3.

When they announced Cerberus as the 'baddies' I jumped for joy, I thought of all the massive possibilities Miranda had in the story for ME3. And who would my Shep want by his side as he whooped Cerberus' ass!? My all Powerful biotic friend Jack of course who hated them as much as me!

But no... I wasnt allowed to have them in ME3. Instead I had to bring EDI along to Cronos station...talk to Liara about Cerberus, who no offence knew nothing about my past in ME2...and no I don't accept the excuse that 'Liara knows all..shes the shadow Broker'.

I would LOVE to see some Miranda and Jack DLC. Their roles felt so unfulfilled in ME3 to me which is why to me it has little replay value because I know no matter what I do in game they will still be sidelined. I don't agree with the treatment of Thane and Jacob but I feel they had slightly less to give in terms of the story anyway.

Rant over...

Subscribed. The wasted story potential is just incomprehensible. I don't know how Jack's fans think about her character presentation in ME3, but MIranda was mutilated, with more than half of her gone, and the remaining parts her least interesting aspects.
