So, Bioware, make it happen!

Obvious: EDI is already a pretty easy replacement for Miranda in any possible anti-Cerberus mission.Babi_Siha wrote...

It's not likely, since both characters can die in ME2. If everyone doesn't have access to these characters, not everyone will buy the DLC.
If not everyone buys the DLC, Bioware doesn't make money. You see how this is an issue?
We've talked about this and it's not really an issue. If they die on the import game, they can be replaced by other characters. In Dragon Age Awakening if the Warden died in Origins a new character will be the protagonist and I don't see why that can't happen in this situation.
And to create another biotic victim of the Pragia experiments shouldn't be that hard to make either.

I'm all for a new DLC for Jack/Miranda. They deserve better.
Its great to see how many fellow fans feel that way. Hopefuly Bioware is still listiening and we get some DLC for the two most badass women in the galaxy.

Will literally do backflips infront of BioWare HQ if this happens.

I have no idea why BioWare went the way they did with Jacob. Thane I can somewhat understand, as it was something most people had prepared themselves for.
But Jacob? Way to kick someone lying down.
A lot of people that were fans of the Thane romance hoped we could find a cure for him. In the first script leaks there actually was mention of a mission to Kahje where you could supposedly find a cure for Kepral's. I don't remember all the details.
But, even if he had to die, there was very little content for the romance itself...you don't even get a Paramour achievement. Same with Jacob. I know you at least get that with Jack, not sure about Miranda.
There's also the issue where femShep only has four o/s options the entire trilogy, two of which don't even get you a Paramour achievement and are very under-done. BroShep has five (I'm not counting Allers or Kelly), three of which get fairly substantial attention, and at least four (if not all five) get you the Paramour achievement. If you're not into asari or s/s action, your femShep has depressingly few options. Also, there are no new o/s LIs at all in ME3, not counting the re-romanceable VS and Allers. We had three new options for both broShep and femShep in ME2! It kind of felt like LIs were not nearly as important this time around as they have been in the past, which is unfortunate, because it's one of the most popular features of the game.

The way around this is to simply not make them ESSENTIAL and core to the storyline that they are in. Make the DLC very broad and throw in several factors that would involve these two characters but if they aren't involved it's not that big of deal...or it could be a huge deal and be reflected in your War Assets or the fates of other characters.Babi_Siha wrote...

Killed Jack? Oh well guess nobody is there to hold up the barrier Aria on Omega. No Miranda? Guess those Cerberus troops under Petrovsky will just have to die along with the rest of Cerberus rather then reorganize them into something useful.

I was having this discussion with others earlier about how ME1 and especially ME2 were more character-centric and character-driven stories. ME3 wasn't...BioWare lost that a bit, and it shows. They were trying to tell a big, philosophical war story instead of sticking to the characters, which are what people know and love about this franchise. They still could have had a character-driven war story...they did it well with the Genophage and Rannoch arcs. Everything else was either about the Crucible, Cerberus, or the war as a whole and took the focus off the characters.su66otnik wrote...

I think this is the core issue, and what is frustrating for a great deal of people. There are a ton of different kinds of Mass Effect players, but a good chunk of the fandom (the hardcore Mass Effect players, if you will) pretty much revolves around the romances.

What I most want to see is the addition of the LI as a squad-mate.
Maybe they need to hire a romance novelist to help them out.
