I know there are alot of variables but THEY CAN NOT DO THIS. How can any one take the story seriously if they invalidate all our own stories and experiences and decisions? If everything we do,see,accomplish can just be erased then whats the point? This notion of a canon starting point really gets my blood boiling...."canon" is what you do in YOUR story, that IS mass effect....."canon" taken literally in respect to mass effect is the story elements that are the same in all varuations...besides that, ever heard of alternate realities? thats also what ME is....and probably the main reason mass effect has been successful, b/c all these variables and possibilities through decision give it the highest replayability of any game in history.....THATS a very valuable and attractive thing.....if they were to screw with that for the sake of continuing {and likely watering down} the series that would be a massive mistake from all angles for everyone in the end {they DID already try to screw with this w/ the original endings btw}
Concerning a sequel and the idea of using one canon starting point...
