OK, here's my humble take on the Thane mission flowchart that includes Kolyat.

An FShep-specific choice I forgot to mention: if she decides to break up with Thane, he dies fighting Kai Leng as if he wasn't loyal.
I really love the chart and how it take previous choices into account and leads to different scenarios depending on those choices. We should have gotten something similar in the vanilla game instead of being railroaded into a single outcome regardless of how we interacted with Thane.
We need to fax this over to BioWare.

but the requirements to thane become normandy's crew are a bit too high don't you think? mainly the fact that only romanced femsheps get the chance to do it....give the brosheps and femsheps that preffered garrus some love too or you should scrap this ideia...i don't see Bioware paying Brian Bloom for banter and conversations that most saves wouldn't have a way to get it.

I was about to make him a romance option with my new femshep in ME 2, but after reading the OP's discussion, it was enlightening.
But I really doubt Bioware will actually fix this. They really did just drop the ball with all of the ME 2 characters, but I do feel for Thane fans. I loved all the ME 2 characters and even in Destroy ending, I romanced Jack with my maleShep and it was Traynor who held the name plate ... No clue WHY it was not Jack, but I guess ME 3 writers hated ME 2 writers.

I figured there was a small chance of him at least joining the crucible team, but since none of the ME2 peeps got to be on the Normandy, there's no way Thane would. But let's stick the possibility on there just in case!

Well, Mordin and Legion did come to the Normandy. Another possible outcome of Thane "joining the Crucible" - he asks Shepard to transport him to Kahje to help with training of new drell fighters, so that he gets some time in the Life Support and maybe some dialogue with the crew.

At first I was a bit taken back and had a knee-jerk reaction, but then I read them again and I figured he was joking in his own sense of humour.
But then again I'm an optimist at heart so...

Attention fellow Thanemancers!
As a result of the popularity of the Romance DLC thread and polls on BSN and HTL, folks over at HTL have combined all the suggestions and made a new, more in depth survey.
It will only take 5 minutes of your time, unless you like to make comments, and we hope to get even more responses than on the BSN polls.
Results will be analyzed, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware.
If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!
Please take the survey!

"The statement made by Bioware on how they would treat all love interests fairly was an outright lie. It is clear who the company pushed as canon romances for players. That added to the fact that femsheps only have two options, and that Thane's story was not the result of artistic integrity, but confessed negligence on behalf of the writing team. The arguement that "loved ones die, deal with it" is just uncaring and insulting. If people die or change (for no apparent reason) then why were those plot devices only implemented on female shepard's romance options? Reducing, and hurting, femgamer's experience as a whole."
I admit, it was done in a moment of passion. I would have been more careful with my choice of words otherwise, however this is how I feel.

Done, this is a little something I wrote on Thane's extra comment section.

Very well put, I like your choice of words very much.
