Action-Romance and Sci-fi could merge verx well. It could even be funny. Casey should whatch the three seasons of Full Metal Panic, then sit down and do the DLC

Voted in your poll. I would support a romance or additional dialogues DLC. Something that just expands on what we have already would be great. I thought the romances between Garrus, Kaiden, Ashley, Liara, and Tali were all pretty decent. I even thought Miranda and Jack were acceptable. Thane's romance and Jacob's were both poorly handled, in my opinion. I'm not asking for a cure for Thane. I'm not upset that he died, and we did get to see a little touching reunion scene with him. It's the death scene that bothered me. It barely impacted a Shepard that romanced him. If you romance Thane, I think that scene should be slightly more dramatic... She couldn't give him a goodbye kiss or even hold his hand? Your LI just died... I also think you should get the paramour achievement for Thane. The game acted as if your romance never happened or just didn't matter. I ended up having to sleep with Traynor just for my achievement. -__-

Like some others said above, I don't need sex scenes or a happy reunion at the end of the game. Just additional dialogue to expand on the character's personalities and add a little more depth to Shepard's story.

THis is something I can support.

Ash is my canon romance. My ideas would be:

alternate shipboard outfit (standard Alliance uniform or Alliance dress blues)

restored "What was dying like" conversation

expanded memorial scene with her family

And for all LIs:

replace breath scene with Shepard lying in a hospital bed. LI appears at the doorway (possibly Hackett if no LI). Roll credits.

I'm all for some more Kaidan romance in the game. I think the demand for this is strong enough that they should seriously consider it as a future DLC option. Investment in the characters is what makes the Mass effect franchise so great.

I'm glad you changed the title. I like how the thread covers a broader topic now, as opposed to just 'romance.' I really [really] want something like LoTSB as opposed to just 'dinner clips' (exaggeration of course).

I am going to do a bit of a quick Ashley run-down, maybe give you some suggestions. If you find it useful, put it in your character section in original post.

One of the main problems I (and it seems also people on Ash's official thread) have with her is the lack of pre ME 3 information content.

It seems like she was frozen in time, doing nothing. This is the only squad character that we know nothing about between the events of ME 1 and ME 3. What was she doing? In ME 2 TIM said her files are well protected and he can't say anything about her. Anderson said that the can't say anything because of your Cerberus affiliations. Logically we should've been given the option to explore and learn what was she doing after original normandy got destroyed, but nope. Okay, how about those 6 months before the events of ME3 - again nothing.

Only thing we know is she somehow got promoted but when you ask her about it she is like ' yeah, old Williams curse is gone, who would say.' Really? That's the answer? What did she do worthy of promotion? 

Second thing is lack of conversations with her. She has only one scene aboard the Normandy and its her 'drunk scene'. But that scene holds no information at all. What was the point of that scene? Only thing you got from it was that she needed to blow off some steam. Why was that a cut scene again? Why wasn't it done like Tali's scene, which is actually longer and holds more character relevant implications?

Third will be the never explained removal of the scene where she talks with Shepard about the light at the end of the tunnel. This was supposed to be a very powerful scene that says alot not only of Ashley but also of Shepard. And it was cut from the final product.

Its very sad what happened to post-coup Ashley because her content on Mars was done simply perfectly.

Well, that's it. My piece of thought. If you can scrap something out of it good, if not... well nothing.

@iSousak - great points brought up! I happen to have a real soft spot for Ashley (even when I role played Sheps who argued with Ash....something I like that you could do, and still have a more complex relationship with her). Funny thing is, I really liked her, and I later found out that she was written by the same man who wrote my favorite alien LI; Thane.

While I was amazed that there were people out there who would actualy pay just for Tali's face, I would probably pay for LI improvements if they were well done. I think that what we have now is preaty good, but improvements would still be realy nice. We never see Tali's face! (and no, a photo shopped image of some British model doesn't count)

The main problem with existing game romances concerns the manner chosen by Bioware to reconciliate the new ME players experience (those who started with ME3 from the scratch) and those who reused ME1/ME2 savegames.

I do not know about other romances, but I do know that Liara's dialogue is weird and inconsistent in some moments, where player needs to "lock" the romance again and she talks about "let's be friends", also some more small phrases indicating Shepard/Liara relationship should be present in her "mundane banter" (the one she has when no particular dialogue is foreseen and player interacts with her on Normandy - that kind of change would not be difficult to do - several new lines recorded with voice actress and maybe with 2 Shepards and some additional dialogue options in the romance key moments).

You have my support, 'though I rather see a romance DLC splitted up into smaller parts, otherwise, it would be too expensive for BW to develop one and therefore, the DLC itself would reach the 30 Bucks easily.

So in fact I'd like to see:

VS Romance DLC - basically improving Kaidan's and Ashley's content. Should also include a special mission for them (like a loyalty mission in ME2) where the romance or friendship is displayed.
Actually, VS romances should end on the same level like Liara's, so they feel like they did in ME1, where all three romances were treated equally.

ME2 Romance DLC - adding special missions for the characters, allow to safe Thane and remove cheating Jacob if you took the paragon way PLUS Jacob was your first LI.
Maybe not as sophisticated and rich like Liara's romance, but still much better than we have now.

Liara DLC - since it's going to happen. You know that. She got most stuff already and BW won't stop here. So I had to name it.

ME3 Romance DLC - improves all other ME3 romances: Cortez needs a better love scene, Traynor shouldn't shower in her bra, more interaction with them. Allers should become a real fling that wants more than an ONS. She also should interact more with the rest of the crew, including flirting. Should end with Traynor if not romanced..
Plus: make Vega available as straight romance option. Maybe add a special mission where he's a mandatory squadmember and once the job is done, he wants more of fem!Shep.
Give Garrus and Tali some love too.

Yeah. You have my full support. My primary focus is, however, on

VS Romance DLC
Because neither Kaidan nor Ashley had enough content compared to the series' primary romance option.

More VS content, they both didn't have enough content.

James romance, it would be awesome. Would love to have him as a romance option. my femshep could have someone other than Kaidan.

More Ashley content, she had the potential to have more content. She could have more conversations on the Normandy with Shepard or other characters, she has little interaction with other crew members. Kaidan can also use more interaction and conversations on the normandy and citadel.

More VS. And at least one or two interactions with Morinth before she gets banshee-fied. At least present us with another chance to kill her.

Thane could use a cure like was promised.

Ashley could use more interactions in and around the crew, and the LIs could have the option to let them move to the cabin. More interactions would be great. More options to sleep/show affection with them would be appreciated as well.

I wanted more romance when tali as LI. you only get one moment on the citadel and it was kind of clumsy that bioware didn´t even add a romantic comment from shepard at the last mission to rannoch.

More interaction with Ashley on the Normandy. We need to expand on her activities between the games and a conversation surrounding the fall of Thessia (everyone gets one...except her).

Perhaps a convo between her and Garrus concerning kills? They're both sniper trained.
