I would be willing to pay $30-$40 for this DLC if it was as in depth as you described. This is something well needed for Mass Effect.

depending on how big it was I would pay $50 if it was gigantic

Updated my thread

Kaidan and Ashley DLC / Virmire DLC

@ giftfish
A friend of mine told me we might get even more support if we shift the focus from "romance DLC" to more generic content without sacrificing any romantic content.

Know what I mean? People that are not attracted to any romances in the game won't buy a DLC dedicated to romances. Those people, however, might buy a DLC that gives them more content in general, regardless if it comes with improved romances or not. So shifting the focus from romances to story elements might increase the numbers of supporters, potential buyers and therefore potential profit.
Profit - that's what EA and BW are interested in. The higher the potential profit, the higher the chances we might get our romance DLCs - they just shouldn't be named "Romance DLC" anymore.

For example:

Instead of "Ashley and Kaidan Romance DLC", it should be named "Return to Virmire DLC" or something like that. The content of said DLC is the Virmire mission, specially designed for the VS.
It also should improve the generic content for Kaidan and Ashley - more friendly banter between missions, more interaction and, of course, more romantic content as well.

Just my two cent. :)

There are a lot of good ideas concerning the Expansion of the romances, but there are quite a few ideas, which are unfeasible, such as including making every LI to a Squad Mate. To make that possible, BW has to rewrite the whole story (e.c. Miranda or Jack) and this won't happen.
Nonetheless I hope, that BW will at least take a look on this survey. They created a fantastic Extended Cut, which shows, that they are interested in the fans' opinion

In some ways you're definitely right. On the other hand - Sanctuary doesn't trigger the endgame sequence (doing the Cerberus HQ job does!). So there is still place to recruit Miranda after Sanctuary.
She won't accept if you didn't romance her.

Jack, Jacob and Thane could be recruited earlier, 'though we definitely need to fix the issues for Jacob and Thane first.

Jacob: he simply shouldn't move on if romanced. He can be recruited after his mission (only if romanced, otherwise he wants to stay with his new girlfriend) Also Jacob won't follow you if you moved on in ME3.

Thane: there should be a mission granting him a semi-cure that buys a bit more time, maybe 3, 4 years. Let's hope the doctors will find a full cure in that time. That mission should be available BEFORE the Coup and MUST be done before it, otherwise, Thane dies like he does in the vanilla game.
If you do the mission before, you can recruit Thane after the Coup (+ maybe one another priority mission done) He'll refuse if you didn't romance him or moved on.

Jack won't accept right after her mission, but should write you a
mail later she found a capable teacher for her students. Should happen
somewhere after the Coup. She won't write the mail if she's not your romance and she'll refuse if you moved on (but had her romanced in ME2).

That's how I would do it.

Did the survey. Surprised at the rather detailed questions.

Make enough noise and maybe Bi.. I mean EA will greenlight this DLC.

Not gonna hold my breath though. I've become reluctantly satisfied with my headcanon.

Jack. Always.

Hello folks. I posted this in the Jacob thread(Yes, it's still here. It's on life support, and we have to give it CPR every few days, but it's still here), and was encouraged to put it here for review. It's just a simple, relatively easy way to fix the Jacob romance in ME3. It's all I would ask out of a Romance DLC, as far as he is concerned. I'd love more, of course, but this would be all I'd actually ask for.

I would like to see Shepard get a holocall/meeting with Jacob on the Citadel prior to the end of the Genophage Arc, smilar to what she gets with Miranda. This would allow Shepard to end/continue the romance, keeping it within player control. Jacob could mention Dr. Cole(including her making advances), and the work he's doing saving Ex-Cerberus personnel. And they could make-up or break-up amicably here if the players wants that. Like so:

Shep: You seem to be happy there, Jacob. You like Dr. Cole?
Jacob: Yeah, we've got a lot in common, Shepard. Still, she isn't you. Couldn't reach you when you were with the Alliance, but I'm thinkin' about you. We still good, Shepard?
Break-up:
Shepard:Jacob....I don't think this will work. With everything that's going on, the chances of us both living through this war....
Jacob: *pained, dejected look* Yeah...I get you. Doing what we do, it's hard to hope for anything real. For what it's worth, Shepard, I love y- loved you. Even if you don't feel the same, I want you to know that. We still friends?
Shepard: Yeah, still friends, Jacob. Take up that doctor's offer for drinks. She sounds nice.
Jacob: Yeah, I might do that. See you around, Shepard.
Make-up:
Shepard: Oh, we're still good Jacob. I've missed you. Saving the galaxy won't be the same without you watching my back.
Jacob: *smirk* Yeah, but we both have things to do, Shepard. These people are counting on me to protect them. They need me.
Shepard: Wanna trade?
Jacob: *chuckle* Thanks Shepard, but I'll pass. I don't envy you, saving the galaxy by playing politics. But I'll keep in touch, if I can.
Shepard: *sultry smile* Calling your girlfriend from a secret location, Jacob? Kind of like sneaking into the captain's quarters....
Jacob: *playful smile* Yeah, it's a heavy risk....
Shepard: But the priiize......
Jacob: I'll see you soon, Shepard. Goodbye. I love you.

That's how I think Jacob's romance could be continued before you meet him on the mission. And if you don't take this chance to talk with him, he will end up cheating on you with Dr. Cole. That would keep the situation in the player's control, but still have the opportunity to have Jacob decide to leave Shepard. I think it would be another case of Jacob being a unique LI in that he will do that if you don't talk to him.

Going through with this meeting would change quite a bit of dialogue in the 'Ex-Cerberus Scientists' mission, since Shepard would already know what Jacob is doing there, and who Dr. Cole is. And when she talks with Jacob, he'll still be loyal to her, and Dr. Cole could even say something congratulatory to Shepard, like 'I went after him, but he wouldn't take my offer. I thought he'd be better off here, with me. But that man loves you. Take care of him, will you? We owe our lives to him.'

And when Shepard and Jacob meet back up on the Citadel afterward, they could talk about the future, and what they want. Jacob can mention starting a family, and they can have a chance for a fade-to-black.

Now this would fix pretty much everything I think is wrong with the Jacob romance arc, with fairly minimal resource expenditure. So that's what I want. Not getting my hopes up, though. Thoughts?

@CptData -- I totally get what you are saying here. That is why I've already changed the title of the post from "Petition for ME3 Romance DLC" to what it currently is: "ME3 Romance-Related DLC: Petition for Improvements, Side Missions, etc." People do seem clear, especially after the title changem that while our primary focus is on improvements to the romances, this does go hand-in-hand with the creation of additional content, as well.

I can't change things beyond that, as it is the romance aspect that is attracting so people to this thread, and has gotten us over 6000 responses to our survey so far. In addition, now that this thread has so many other related posts on other sites around the web, to remove the "romance" from the title would not make sense in the context of our objective.

To be clear, though, side missions, adding LIs as squadmates, etc, would be accessible to everyone, not just players that romance that specific character.

Also, like your ideas regarding Jack, Jacob, and Thane :)

@The-Hunta: You are right, as essentially what we are creating is a bit of a wish-list. I am combining everyone's suggestions, so BW can see the breadth of what players want, with the "general" suggestions containing some of the most popular ones.

I'd love a romance dlc with miranda. I missed her and felt a handful of trips to the citiadel talking to her were just thrown in as an afterthought. I could say that with all LI, not enough love.

I was disgruntled with Ashleys constant "Good to see you!" everytime I visited her. I'm not asking for ME3 - The Sims, but a more believable love interest, yes.

@CastonFolarus: Yay! I'm so happy to see someone who support Jacob. I support the dude although I don't romance him. Wanted to let you know that I sincerelly DO hope that his romance arc will get heavy retconing, although his friendship path could maybe just stay the same ;)

*Hmm..starting to feel comfy and cozy being here.. I hope giftfish doesn't mind if I apply for citizenship in this thread XD..*
