Samara needs to be in this. She is one of the main reasons why I got ME3, she one if not the most unique characters in ME and she deserved better than what she got. She was promised a full LI but for dialogue budget reasons they had to stop. Her background is unlike any other character in ME and her LI story would be very interesting and emotional, since she still has Falere it would be interesting to see how it plays out.

When Bioware was soliciting suggestions on BSN and HTL for what players wanted to see in the ME3 Extended Cut (EC), some of the most common suggestions were related to the treatment of ME3 romances, especially ME2 romances in ME3.  Namely, much of the player-base for a variety of reasons, felt the romances were not given proper screen time and consideration.

With the release of the EC, it has now become evident that the suggestions regarding improvements to romances did not make the cut.  However, the EC was about the game ending, not the romances, so to an extent this was to be expected.  In addition, Bioware has already stated that there will be no additional post-ending DLCs, however, they could still implement pre-ending DLCs.

This thread is in support of exactly that.  A pre-ending Romance DLC Pack expanding on the current treatment of all romances in ME3.  Note: this would not be a post-ending "reunion DLC"; Bioware has already stated that they won't do this.   

This should be done while retaining as much of the current treatment as possible, so as not to disrupt the play experience of people who are already happy with the current treatment. 


For example, if someone likes the current treatment of Thane, there needs to be an option to retain his current storyline (battle with Kai Leng, his death, etc), while still experiencing improvements to Tali's romance.  This should be fairly easily for Bioware to implement using the dialog wheel at various points in the game.

In other words, the purpose is not to take away from the experience of other players, but rather to add options to what is currently present,  with the intent of improving the experiences of everyone.

 

The goals of this thread are the following:
1.  Find out how much support there would be for this DLC.

2.  Get people to vote in these polls:  question 1, question 2, question 3, question 4.  Please read the directions for each poll carefully!

3. Compile the most common suggestions for how players would like to see the DLC implemented for each LI.  This way BW has a one-stop reference thread.  Please help me in doing this by writing down your suggestions.  I'll put them into this post at the beginning of the thread for everyone to reference.

4. Provide a thread for all players that support improvements to ME3 romances to interact with each other.  This is difficult, as most discussions generally takes place in the separate character threads.

 

Lastly,  If you are not in support of this DLC, then state your opinion constructively.  I do not want this thread turning into a flame war.  No feeding the trolls.

ROMANCE DLC SUGGESTIONS:

General Suggestions

• More quality romance-specific dialogue
• More quality side missions
• Better "story"
• Time in Shep's quarters, like in ME2 -- dialogue, cuddle-time, etc
• More noticable differences between friend/romance dialogue, behaviors,  body language, etc
• More noticable differences between friend/romance dates
• Make all ME2 characters full, recruitable, squadmates
• Split up the DLC into a few characters each, to ensure proper treatment; each contains different side missions, etc

Well, it depends on how they would make this DLC...I'm really interested! I have just a small question: why don't Bioware insert some images after Shepard's breath scene showing him\\her taken away from the debris from his\\her LI and perhaps some images and\\or video of Shepard with his\\her LI (and maybe with the whole crew) after the end of the war? That would be cathartic and I'm not joking! I'm referring to Aristotelic philosophy with his point of view about greek tragedies and their importance since they are cathartic.

for jack and morinth there should be some acknowledgment of their deaths. if thats how your story turned out, jack gets turned into a phantom and theres not a word about it, if you dont notice the health bar you wouldnt even know its her.

and morinth we just learn shes dead, no information about what happened to her, why she ended up there, how someone so powerful got turned into a banshee- she just appears

i know that wouldnt be an romance expansion but more of a patch for an existing issue, but jack was my canon romance and because i didnt realise i would run out of time to do her mission she died, and even with shepard listening to the recordings of jack( his romance) being tortured and then having to fight her there was no reaction at all

i can understand the point with morinth but what do you mean with jack? you meet jack at grisoms so she's not a phantom...or did i get something wrong?

Yeah, I'd like to see the romance side of the story explored more in a DLC, because, seriously, there's so little made of it in the game it might as well not be there in the first place.

So yeah, flesh out the romance a bit... now to go answer those poll questions.

Love how Kasumi get's a lil ninja face , I'm curious.. does anyone actually dislike/hate Kasumi? I've never come across someone who doesn't like her, some people that don't trust her (purely cause shes a professional thief), but not hate or dislike.

but i would love a dlc that allows me to take my LI around on a date....or on a mission that only includes the LI and Shep.

a Hot Coffee DLC would be nice too...but um..yeah

Liara was my LI and I was completely satisfied , when I got her out of London in the EC she was wounded,it made me well up,"I am yours" wow,
I think the BW team should make good on Tali for the Tali fans, she was nonchalanly passed over to one side, this does need dlc to address imho.

To be fair, even if it doesn't make it all that much better, at the Cerberus base you actually come across a log of Jack being tortured and turned into a phantom, so the player should know that in the best case scenario for Jack at that point she's dead. Then, shortly after, you come across her as a phantom.

I may not like Morinth, but she's the one who truly gets the shaft.

I think the romances are fine the way they are. Would rather see the resources go towards making good side-quests; in the same quality as Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Yeah I agree, I'd love more romance DLC but the fact that we don't have a reunion would just creep in my mind the whole time. So I vote for a reunion!

Although I did say it would upset me I read some idea's and it made me think. I would love a DLC where you go with Kaidan to see if his family are okay in Vancouvar and then you meet the parents of course.

I've seen this suggestion on the Garrus forum, so I'll go ahead and add it when I add the other suggestions a bit later.
