[2/21 -- NEWS] ME3 Romance-Related DLC: Petition for Improvements, Side Missions, & More Content

Shaking up the general (1) have a few conversations with potential LI -> (2) LI-specific quest/event -> lengthy gap -> (3) Confirm/deny interest -> (4) Sex scene right before the end would have been nice too, to make the relationship(s) more organic, particularly if you've imported.
Anyway, I doubt BIoware would actually do much about this part of the game, but I felt it was a prime example of how making ME3 "new player" friendly could be jarring at times.

T-4 days until Christmas, wewt!
We're going to have a great Focus Friday posted on the blog later today looking a bit deeper into the correlations between a couple of survey questions. You'll see some material that wasn't summarized in the standard survey results

Ok, Focus Friday is finally out. As I was writing it, I figured out it had to be a 2-parter, so the rest will get posted tomorrow.
Be sure to check it out -- some pretty interesting survey results that can only be found when looking deeper at player responses.

Part 2 of yesterday's Focus Friday will be out shortly....just wrapping the last section up now.
With that in mind, we are down to the final 3 days for folks to get in their "Christmas in Mass Effect" artwork, doctored screenies, etc for inclusion in the Christmas Gallery that will go up on the blog on Christmas Day!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

The blog is back from vacation today and we'll have a great Focus Friday scheduled for 2 days from now -- Thane is the winner this week.
Also, if you've been gone over the holiday, check out the fantastic Christmas gallery we put together
We've had a few more suggestions since I last updated the thread, so I'll be working on including those in the initial post, as well.
Most importantly, in all likelihood BW work on SP DLC for ME3 will wrap up the first quarter of this year. That means we have relatively little time left to make a difference on this. Help us to help you by following us/retweeting on twitter, keeping this thread alive, and commenting over on the blog.
Please note that the closure of the Character/Romance forums has strongly dampened player discussion and initiatives relating to the characters, so help keep them on fans minds by linking the blog/thread in your BSN groups, tumblrs, dA profiles, etc.
Lastly, don't forget, much of our blog content is provided by YOU. The players. Send us a great screenshot or 2 of your Shepard and his/her LI. Or, if you enjoy writing, send us a spotlight that highlights why you perfer a certain LI over all the others. Sam fan? Tell us why she's your favorite. Think she was mistreated in ME3? Tell us why (be respectful, as we've discussed previously, lol).
The ME3 Romance DLC initiative has been going for about 6 months now, and we're ready to give this a good last push before BW lets us know there will be no more SP DLC.
We can't do it alone, though, so help us to let BW know that character/story-centric DLC featuring additional content and improvements to the romances is something that players want.

For some reason I find it both very cute and sad at the same time
A play on this fact in a romance DLC would probably render me laughing with tears in that certain way.

@Adomas -- I really am going to have to play BroShep one of these times so I can romance Tali; I've always really enjoyed her character.

The first time I played Mass effect, is when the second came out. I played FemShep (I am male), in part because of Hale's voice. Somewhere in the middle, around the loyalty mission, when Tali got to show off her character more, I 'noticed' her, even before I realised that I was able to actually romance characters, not just talk dirty
She made me to become a man, so to speak
Nothing is ever simple..

My husband was watching all this, and he KNEW I would want the green frog man, if the option was available. I told him, "it's because he reminds me of you"......yeah; he didn't buy that either. HA!
Alrighty then! The new Quote of the Week is posted on the Cosmic Love blog. See if any of YOU were a chosen commentor this week.

We're sharing stories? Yes!
I started out with ME1, and fell head over heels for Garrus. Either I just really liked how turians looked, or I was brought in by his difficulty with morality and how he asked my femshep for answers. I went through the game knowing ME2 was a few months away, and wondering if Garrus would be there.
ME2 pre-release details rolled around, and I saw a promo picture of Thane. On an appearance basis, I was sold. Then it was confirmed that Garrus *and* Thane were going to be LIs.
Younger me went into a conundrum over who to romance on the first playthrough, and I tried to do both until Thane figured out what was going on and I stuck with Garrus. Unfortunately, I wasn't really satisfied with his romance in ME2.
Next playthrough; Thane's all mine. And as the romance progressed, I already found myself more satisfied (To be honest, I'm surprised that back then, I was more interested in emotional qualities than physical in my 'ships. Either way!). Then the romance scene happens, he cries, I cries, and I have my Shepard's canon LI. Then ME3 happened.
I play multiple Shepards as well, and I have two male Shepards (Paragon and Renegade) who love Jack very much as well. I don't have much of a story for the Paragon one, but I know he wants to help Jack have a better life. The renegade one (Jaden) loves her because he knows exactly what kind of crap she had to live through.

@Zwall - You say "Then ME3 happened". What do you mean? (I haven't played with femshep there). From BroShep's experience, Garrus had some wonderful screentime, especially the bottle shooting. It was such a beautiful moment, ture bro's sharing a moment, which felt like they both really feel like the war can't have a good resolve.

just replace shopped stock photo of an isaeli girl with a picture of Tali and i can die a happy nerd
I believe (or at least I wish), that a modelled face may happen, but a picture retcon - not plausible. If we yell loud and polite enough, we may just get to see Tali actually smile.
Chances are that BW would try to stick with Kohistani though.
Edit: sorry for the sequential posting.

I also started my "Mass Effect" experience with ME2. In fact, it was my first BioWare game, ever.
I had no idea what to expect at all. I found myself amazed by the high-quality writing and I was absolutely floored by how Shepard's relationships with the characters pulled me into the game to a completely different level than any other video game I had ever played.
When I started playing I had no idea any characters in the game were "romanceable"...until my spouse mentioned it in passing. Thane was an easy choice for me. Jacob was too much of a boy scout (imo), and as much as I enjoyed Garrus' character I couldn't get past the fact that he looked like a giant locust/grasshopper. It didn't really dawn on me to pursue Kelly or Samara.
So, Thane it was. His character had incredible depth, his recruitment and LMs had fantastic combat and RP elements, and the romance between he and Shepard underwent a great evolution during the course of the game. Not to mention he had that whole crazy-a**-ninja-dark-brooding-tragic-mature-sensitive-sexy thing going on.
You know, he was like ME2's version of Angel.

Placed the part here to avoid long post: http://pastebin.com/7uG9AjG3
The story is about my LI, Tali and takes place a week after Shepard takes Tali aboard the Normandy during he events in ME1.
And a part:
<.....>
Sighing, she sits at the mess table, looking once more at the tube of nutrient paste she'd procured from the stock area. Bland, flavorless, barely enough to survive on. But she had been trained for this, she had known when she left the Flotilla that it wouldn't be easy. Still, she can't help but let the other worries of her life influence this area too, and so instead of eating her meal, she simply stares at it. She doesn't notice him approach, doesn't notice him set his tray down, doesn't even notice him watching her from inches away until he speaks.
"Can...can you eat it with your eyes?" his voice startles her
<......> (Rest in the pastebin)
A bit late to put it in ME3, but I would sooo love to see this animated and voiced.
