I love Samara, but don't treat her like an LI. Whining about her romance's absense is entirely nonsensical; she was never meant to be legitimately romanceable. I can guarantee that no new LIs will be introduced in this DLC.

She needs to zip up that battlesuit.

If your like me and are planning to start a new playthrough for the Citadel DLC, then remember to "lock in" your preferred romance(if you have one) before you start the DLC. Just because you can begin it after the Cerberus coup attempt does not mean you should. There's nothing worse than having a fancy new appartment on the Citadel and being stuck in the "friend zone" with your LI.

So for informational purposes...
Kaidan/Ashley, Garrus, and Liara's romances are locked in when they message Shepard for a date on the Citadel shortly after the coup attempt.
Traynor's is locked in if FemShep showers with her.
Cortez is locked in as ManShep's LI at Purgatory.
Miranda's is when she asks Shepard to meet in the appartments on the Presidium.
Allers's is non-committal

Those are the only ones I know of. When are Tali, Jack, Jacob, Thane, Samara and Chambers' "locked in", if they are?
I know Morinth is a banshee so I doubt she'll be a LI, but you never know.Image IPB

^ Tali's "lock-in" is when she first comes aboard the Normandy, you have to invite her up to Shepard's cabin via the intercom.

NOTE: Unlike other LIs, Tali's romance lock-in is TIME-SENSITIVE - she has to be invited to Shepard's cabin before the "Priority: Rannoch" mission (though I personally prefer to do it before the Geth Dreadnaught mission, since that guarentees the Shepard/Tali flirting dialogue throughout that mission ^_^)

Good info to post, guys :]

I don't remember when Jack and Kelly's lock-in's are, but the wiki should say, so folks can take a look there.

Thane, Jacob, and Samara don't count as LIs in ME3, so they don't have lock-ins.

A little late to the party but I've neve read this thread before. Just something I noted on the Kaidan thing, it's never actually said that he fancied much less loved the girl at the biotic training place. That's just interpretation, but in my game Kaidan's gay :P

Welcome :]

Nothing wrong with either of your interpretations; they both work.  Character Spotlights on the blog are all about the guest-blogger's individual opinion about the character and in-game experience with them. Different folks will interpret things differently.  Then, of course, there is head-cannon, which can bring it to a whole new level.

Thanks for the heads up -- that's pretty much what I expected, but didn't want to lead folks astray if I was incorrect, lol.

Not much content for her, so that was really the only option.

Ah. I was a little confused as to whether it was a profile or a fanfic but it's a little bit of both haha.

@norobbiec --

Definitely not fanfic. But yeah, especially with Kaidan since he wasn't available to BroShep in ME1, it's pretty easy for many folks (especially those that romanced him with FemShep) to "assume" that he was straight.  With that in mind it was fairly easy to deduce that he and Rahna might have had a thing.

However, like you said, though, nothing is said verbatim, and as far as I know Kaidan and BroShep don't really talk about it much in ME3 -- specifically, why they didn't get together in ME1/2. There really should have been some additional background included there (imo) to help explain things a bit more.

Richer story is always better :]

That's the joy of console commands - access cut content to romance Kaidan as a man in ME1. Was actually the only reason I bought ME1 haha.

That's the advantage of there being no canon - everything gets their own universe.

Morning, folks.

As we're winding down the blog, we have a few new pages that have been posted today. All galleries.

T-1 day until more time with our LIs! :]

Check out the post, here.

Yes. It wouldn't fit her character anyways. But a "find me after the war is over thing" is entirely within her character. I'm not looking for a fade to black scene or anything. In fact that'd be distinctly bad. Not even a kiss or hug. Just some dialogue.

Yeah, I would like to know if romance is as good as we wanted. Or at least half of it.

Final blog posts are up, as well, folks :]

Commenting will be allowed until the end of the month, and then will be disabled. At that point the blog will be in an archival state. No new posts or content between now and then.

Well I have my save ready, the DLC loaded, so I'll be starting my final playthrough later tonight.

Still find it hard to believe that we (fingers crossed!) got what we wanted! If this pans out how I'm expecting then I'll gladly doff my cap to BW for listening.

Good luck everyone, really hope you all get what you want from the DLC.

It's been a fun ride writing for the blog. @giftfish and @sarahann (among others) did a fantastic job of getting the survey and site off the ground. Thanks all for reading, and adding your own .02.

Happy Gaming, all! :)

I've got my fingers crossed that Sam has some good content waiting for you!

Let me know how it turns out :D

I'm sure this has been said already since the Citadel content was revealed, but everyone involved with the blog deserves a pat on the back. TBH, even if the final DLC hadn't included new LI stuff, the blog was still a massive and worthy undertaking, well deserving in recognition and thanks from those of us who appreciated that aspect of the game.

Well done all.

It will probably see some activity for the next week or so, but then I'll be exiting the building.

Someone else will have to carry the torch for the next installment of Mass Effect:]

That is, if it is even an RPG.
