Hey, I wanted to actually mess around with the toolset but I have yet to buy the PC version of the game, I own an X-box version though and am wondering why I would be forced to buy the PC version as well to be able to use it. If it would be possible for me to download the toolset since I've already registered my x-box version that'd be great. Thx.

(I know i wouldn't be able to play it for PC but that don't mean I don't wanna make mods for the PC for other people lol)

Because you'd want to test your creations in game, right? You can't do that in your xbox.

Getting the toolset is only a part of the problem. First, the toolset requires the game resources - for example the various erf files containing models, textures and so on. Without those the toolset it pretty much useless, which is why the toolset refuses to even install on a PC that does not have the game installed.

So, even if you were able to install the toolset without the game, you would only be able to create empty areas - no characters, no monsters, no buildings - so what's the point?

Even if you did that, you would not be able to test your creations or copy them over to the Xbox, so.....

You paid for the console version. Why not complain about every console game that doesn't give you the development kit they licensed to build it? You know they must just be holding out on you...

Plus if they gave you it, they might as well throw in a free copy of the PC version too so you have the game assets to use. It would sound like lots of fun for somebody to be on standby to constantly test your iterations.

I don't know of any game that has a console-native toolset; most of the games that do support mods on the PS3 require using the PC version of a toolset to create the mods, and it seems only the game developers are permitted to create content for the XBox 360.

Yup that's correct, however, you buying an bannana when you wanted an apple is nobodys fault but your own.
