Firstly I would like to say that the I thought the EC immensely improved on the current endings.
Pros:
Clarified
Made the star child seem like a good character, Raving mad AI.
Gave you a couple more choices.
Cons: (include cons of original ending)
Doesn’t feature assets in final battles
Doesn't reflect choices
Poorly thought out ending in overall view.
Also doesn’t let a conventional victory if you refuse. Having a huge EMS would allow this. This is possible mainly because of the Thanix Cannon which according to the lore could be sized down to fit on fighter and was enough to kill reapers with some concentrated firepower.
On top of this I would like to say that the star child became a more bearable character after he was more established with questioning. He, to me, seemed like an AI after 7 years in the Halo Universe. He was an AI that became mad after being tasked with the impossible.
Some people felt that their choices with their characters in ME2 were not reflected in ME3. Well I, and I’m sure others, noticed that if your teammates from ME2 were no loyal they died in their respective appearances, except for Thane if he survived and teammates that played big roles, Mordin. For example if Grunt isn't loyal he dies fighting the Rachni, as Kasumi dies in the explosion.
Just wanting to throw some stuff out there.
The goods and the bads of the EC/Ending
