lol okay :) Angry...you would rather commit wholesale mass murder/genocide (Refuse/Destroy) than to live in peace...

Humanity is ****ed

Peace? How would synthesis do that? Oh, you mean brainwashing everyone.

Okay, humanity is ****ed than.

A thousand times, no!  Where do you get this from?  What game are you discussing, because I didn't play that game?

So you think if a green light changed your very being everybody would be happy with it?

Especially JAVIK who's reaction to Synthetics consists mostly of "KILL IT NAOW!"

Javik is in my mind absolute proof of brainwashing.
There is no way he'd be happy with this. No way. Not after everything he says. Not with the memory of the Zha'til that he carries. He wouldn't just be standing around passively.

Synthesis If I actually understood how it worked and what the actual consequences was to those two options.

Refusal I knew or thought we would actually stand a chance and/or if there had been "arks" prepared on hidden locations across the galaxy that ensured the survival of the allied races in one way or another even if we would fail in our war.

Lets see, be a genetic rapist and spread my "energy" into every being in the Galaxy, or be true to one's ideals, to stand tall, to live free or die?

REFUSE.

Flip it around; would you rather be killed or have your genes altered?  If you think gene alteration obviates free will, you aren't playing ME3.

If that is a personal question, yes,  I would rather fight and die then to accept genetically raping sentient species.
If you meant,  is it acceptable to receive genetic alteration so you could live? I would have ro ask, is it acceptable for you to play god and decide on the whim of an insane,  faulty snd homicidal AI.  Since Shepard at the time does not have meta knowledge that things would turn out well,  the only logical choice was to refuse it.

the problem is that Shepard is forced to make a decision for everyone. If Shepard chooses Refuse, Shepard violates those who prefer being altered over being killed (those who prefers loosing their right to be organic only over loosing everything). If Shepard chaoses Synthesis, you violate those who prefer to loose everything over losing your right to not be altered without consent.

Synthesis - it's not brainwahsing or the Borg - at least I don't think it is.

It is brain washing. This is just like the geth rewrite in ME2.

All the choices are moraly wrong. And that's the bueaty of the ending. They are all choiced you don'twant to do. Ironicly, destory is the choice the lease amount of people are violated, unless it's low ems.

I meant it as I wrote it.  Would you personally rather your genes be altered or to get shot in the face by a Reaper and die?  You can't ask, you have to choose or refuse - that is the game.  Most people would prefer their genes altered than to simply die outright; they could always suicide later if they cared to.  In game, you have no reason to think the Catalyst is telling you anything false, and plenty of reason to think a conventional war will be lost.  The Catalyst tells you what synthesis will do, and you know he likes to Reap so if you don't change anything, Reaping time!

I refuse these 2 options. I don't want to pick either.

Yes, that's right, I refuse the refuse option. :D

So look at it from Shepard's point of view and the info he has at the time. That is, every race the Reapers touch are corrupted, every synthesis example from husks to cannibals to banshees are all mindless killers, abominations of its original donors.

Then, you have the catalyst tells you it murdered the race that created it, and turned them into the first Reapers.

Why in all that is holy would you think any idea especially one where it tells you it will genetically change every being in the Galaxy to be a good one?

Refuse. I love that ending anyway.

"**** you, reaper boy."

"SO BE IT."

Then a nice shot of lovely VI Liara desperately warning future generations.

Don't forget about them interpreting the desperation as, oh, they died so we wont have to, it's all going ot be ok, don't worry about it... Like the council... Then they die and eveyoen for a lot of cycles keep dying until someone manages to get into a position to pick a better option..
Or possibly a very scarry super race evolves that the reapers can't indoctrinated due to their racial bond that's stonger than the indoctrination, like the thorian spores, and who knows how to fight back effectively. Perhaps even hack reapers and turn them on eachother by using a combined tech/biological attack on them attacking every system on the dreadnaughts.

I like how everyone headcanons Synthesis as some horrible catastrophe or form of indoctrination. I'd really like to see some proof of this, because the Synthesis epilogue has everyone seemingly very happy, and nothing about being controlled was mentioned.

+1 for Synthesis

Not exactly but Destroy and Control are a parallel to the Destroy/Rewrite choice in ME2.

Big differences are Destroy requires Shep kill all Synthetics and Rewrite requires Shep kill himself.

That's what a lot of your arguments are; in your mind, and nothing more.

Rather petty I'd say, but predictable. When you have something resembling an actual argument to debate me with, do let me know.

Be furious. Not attend the memorial for the person most likely responsible for this. Kill himself if everyone's lucky, go on a shooting spree on the Normandy if they're not. Well. Your mileage may vary if existence as a husk is considered lucky.
