To me, it's just a perfect revisiting of Shepard being trapped under the rubble like in ME1. I absolutely eat stuff like this up completely, and it's one of the main reasons I thoroughly enjoy the new EC ending for destroy. It gave a bit of a "full circle" sense to it which I thought was great. A lot of people are still disappointed that it wasn't elaborated on, but it seems just so much better now.

I thought it was amazing in conjunction with a Miranda LI (when she says to come find her), because after this scene I was like "Yeah! Go get her champ!" and have no doubt that he will. This could be said for about any LI though.

I don't know. I like that it's left to our imagination in the way it's presented now (good speculation).

I wish it was just a second longer (show him get up or something), but how it's placed in the ending in conjunction with music and other symbolism now (the name plaque), I really enjoy it as part of the whole ending. I guess that is to say, I really enjoy the high ems destroy ending now.

Love it?, I still don't even understand how he is alive?, What happened?, How?, When?, Give me something!

Seriously though, I'm so tired of still having to headcanon things after I've seen even an extended cut of an ending. It's like I paid for a fanfic without an ending.

The twitch takes about a second. I honestly can't tell if he's pulling himself up out of the rubble, or his corpse is just having a spasmodic last movement.

He woke up in a pool of blood and continues to bleed heavily.
He experienced a massive explosion near him.
He was partly buried in rubble.

And you think he should not even be alive?

I love the Destroy breathing scene too! Didn't think I'd love it more in the EC than I already did. Glad to be wrong :P

Though I still hoped for some form of reunion, it did manage to have some more impact when it was used with the foreshadowing of your LI hesitating to put your name on the memorial wall.
So, better than I expected, worse than I hoped.

Absolutely not. It irritated me more than before in fact, because they could have shown more than that, but left us with more speculation yet again (despite the fanbase obviously wanting more closure with their Shepard's status at the end of Destroy.)

I can't emphasize enough how sick I am of having to speculate about major plot points and character actions.

That said, I'm just glad they didn't remove it entirely. A tiny bit of me was totally expecting that to happen. \\o/

It still pisses me off. I dont understand HOW he survived an exploding Crucible in space and the plummet down to earth. No way in ass, for all I know it really was a dream and he's waking up during the london battle.

In short, I still know just as much as I did before EC, thats why EC didnt do a damn thing for me.

I was hoping everyone was standing there mourning, the Elevator opens, he limps past everyone mouring, grabs the name plate throws it to the ground, raises both middle fingers in the air, and passes out on the the floor snoring.

I prefer the ME1 version, where we got to see Shep climb out of the rubble and limp away smiling.  Real triumphant imagery.

The current scene is just a revisiting(or never-leaving) of the whole "lots of speculation for everyone" from the original endings.

This.  So we are to believe with a high ems that Shep can survive re-entry from space after the explosion on the citadel?

There was a video done a while ago that circles the Crucible chamber and mostly verifies that that's indeed where the breathe scene is taking place. Months ago I thought it was earth, but I'm pretty sure it's not after it. Sorry I don't have the link, or I'd post it. They could have made it more clear, but they left it the way it was as an attempt to not completely destroy IT I think.

I believe it's meant he's still up there, lost amongst the rubble. I mean, that's why I like it. If they were just like "Yeah, he's on Earth," I'd be like WTF too. Re-entry... no way he survives that. Pretty sure it's intended he's still up there.

umm are you speculating that he plummeted to earth like meteorite? Great imagination.. but if we are to assume he is still alive he is probably still on the citadel and some life-support systems still remain intact.. something less prepostrous, but you get a gold star for trying!

It's good, because it shows that Shepard is alive, but fuuuuuck the damn cliffhanger. I don't wanna assume that my LI went to go get him, I wanna see my LI get Shepard's ass out the rubble and love him to the end of damn time. Or at least show them together.

I would ... well, accept it as a cliffhanger or an end of the first or second part of a trilogy, but NOT, NEVER EVER as the end, the conclusion of a trilogy; in particular when we talk about the main character here.
If you're interested ... here's a thread I made who talks about this a bit in more detail: http://social.biowar...9981/1#12865733

Ditto, and agree with the tired of speculation and headcanon posts. It's better now than it was but it's still not closure by any stretch. It's a massive case of style over substance.

If they made him breathe with his, Blood loss, Sharpnel, and Kinetic force wounds, why even make him breathe?

Show his mangled body thrown around and his eyeballs bursted, show your Shepard mutilated and impaled through the mouth, show him drawn and quartered. Then go to the bathroom and slowly cry with a bowl of Ice cream "MPPPHHH FEELINGS, MMGMGGP SOOO SAAAD"

I love how you insist on going to every thread to shoot down any happiness, tell me, where the did Hanar touch you?

I just wish it was expanded a bit. It would be perfect if it was Admiral Hackett pulling Shepard out of rubble like Anderson did. It would actually be perfect if it was Shep's crew, but they were pretty far (I just don't know why), while Hackett probably wasn't. I'm pretty happy with the Destroy ending as it is now, but it could be much, much better.

I don't know why the Normandy landed on that planet if it wasn't damaged. Instead it should be with Hackett's fleet, then they would all find Shepard in the rubble and we would get the perfect ending of Shep meeting his/her LI and crew.
