Should the Asari Government face some type of punishment for withholding Prothean Tech?

The Salarians, Krogan, and possibly Quarians will be the new power players. Their homeworlds were left in far better shape, the Krogan are poised to expand, and the Quarians now have dozens of untouched garden planets, while Earth, Palaven, and Thessia are in ruins. Why bother kicking them down.

I dont know about that.
The Salarians homeworld may have been untouched...but they forced you to chose between them and the Krogans. They put themselves FIRST. and if you picked against them....they refused to dedicate forces (STG worked independent so they dont count). Dont think the galaxy is gonna look favorably on that.
The Quarians are gonna be too busy rebuilding and adapting to their new world.
So....i would go
First) Humanity
Second tie) Turians and Krogans
Third) Asari
Fourth) Quarians
Fifth) Salarians

The Quarians are no short term player, but I gave them points for the long run. With tons of reaper tech from the war, the technologically adept species will have the best long term prospects, which is why I give the Salarians and Quarians credit (humans may also fall in here), despite Salarian uncooperativeness. Also, all levo-protein species will now have to compete with the Krogan for planets.
The Asari probably still have a decent number of colonies, so they will be better off than the humans and Turians who really only had Earth/ military prowess respectively. Not to mention they were hit late in the war while Earth and Palaven were burning. The problem they face is adapting to a rapidly changing tech environment, when it is clear their superiority was due to the now obsolete Prothean beacon.

With a statist mentality like that, there'd be no hope for peace, even with synthesis.
As i have said...A ORGANIZED AND UNTIED GOVERNMENT would say all is forgiven...hug and forgive. But individuals may not feel that way. THERE WILL BE PREJUDICE because of the decisions made prior to the end of the war.
AND so long as there are more than two people in existance...there will be no such thing as PEACE

Karma dishes out more punishment than we could ever hope manage. The asari were selfish, arrogant, and self-righteous... and they paid the price. Let them be.
You're ****g kidding me with this. Not only do you blanket generalize en entire race of people- incorrectly, even- but then imply they deserve to have lost their home planet, thousands of their race...because you thought they were icky?

Also, I agree with this. And I can't honestly say that my Shep would blab, even if he survives; he'd need one hell of a reason to.

i was thinking the same thing...but Adlers( or whatever the hell Jessica Chobots character's name was). she may have kept the news hush hush.....but a expose' released after the war? Kinda scary...
BUT YEAH...if she dont leak it...then no one will ever know.... besides...it was a government secret...but again...prejudice doesnt discriminate.

They deserve some punishment, but considering what the galaxy has been through, it's not the right thing to do.
That said, a bunch of races should get councillors after this.

Allers wouldn't. She wouldn't even talk about The Fall of Thessia because of her huge Asari audience. To which traynor accused her of Pandering.

When it comes to Prothean relics, they are obligated under Council law. And they're one of the Council races.

Pretty sure somewhere in the game it is stated it is a considered a serious crime in Citadel space to withhold Prothean Tech.

I prefer 'horrible tragity no one deserves, that is in no way a 'punishment', nor should ever be considered one.'

A government of such large scale can never work. Too much diversity for that.
As for peace, it can happen if indivduals are left to their own devices and are allowed to voluntarily co-operate. Sure there will be conflict, just there will probably always be serial killers, but never on the scale of what's seen in the game or irl.

Thanks for pointing that out. This attitude is what makes synthesis so goofy.

They founded the Council; massive hypocrites that they are. Just look at their breeding pattern though; the Asari's plan is obviously to co-opt the whole galaxy through the magic of little blue babies; withholding tech is just one part of the plan. Only synthesis will stop the cultural genocide of every other species by ravenous Asari sexual perversions.
