they're under no obligation to share things they find with other races....

When it comes to Prothean relics, they are obligated under Council law. And they're one of the Council races.

They founded the Council; massive hypocrites that they are.  Just look at their breeding pattern though; the Asari's plan is obviously to co-opt the whole galaxy through the magic of little blue babies; withholding tech is just one part of the plan.  Only synthesis will stop the cultural genocide of every other species by ravenous Asari sexual perversions.

...there are worse ways to go, man. Worse ways indeed.

"Tragedy?"  No way!  Tragedies are natural occurances or accidents, things no one has any control over.  Like all other Reaper attacks, the attack on Thessia was no tragedy... it was a crime.

A crime can be a tragedy, you nitwit. Unless you are being sarcastic,  in which case, you failed.

Only if you take a simplistic view that ignores deeper issues inherent in the story.  Unless you are being insightful, in which case you failed.

The asari have been punished: the Fall of Thessia.

Karma dishes out more punishment than we could ever hope manage.  The asari were selfish, arrogant, and self-righteous... and they paid the price. Let them be.

You're ****g kidding me with this. Not only do you blanket generalize en entire race of people- incorrectly, even- but then imply they deserve to have lost their home planet, thousands of their race...because you thought they were icky?

I thought it was millions actually.   Karma... it's a banshee.

Humanity can also count their casualties in millions. Will you say they deserved it too, and that karma was in play??

....crime and tragedy are not, have never been, and will never be exclusive of each other.

And nothing your butt hurt little self percives 'wrong' with the asari gives finding what happened on Thessia to be anything less then said tragedy any more acceptable.

I wonder if BW thought about the implications of Asari being able to mate universally and always acting as the female?

Sure.  Poetic justice certainly.  The whole galaxy was warned of the Reapers coming.  Everyone who heard that warning, and didn't do everything they could to prepare, has blood on their hands.

We just had the war to end all wars. Shepard went out of his way to unite the galaxy. How about some peace

You keep using that phrase. I don't think it means what you think it means.

The Asari government behaved no differently than any other government has behaved. They are not built for front line troops. They are commando type raiders. If they had let that tech info out before the war they never would have been a major power. Major powers behave like this all the time and receive no sanctions.

I'm sure the Turians had some Prothean stuff they kept under wraps. The difference was that the Asari were caught. And the Alliance was experimenting with AI (ahem... er... enhanced VIs), which was also considered a serious crime.

I think every world has suffered enough in the galaxy. We also know very well who suffers when sanctions are imposed. It's never the government. It's always the people who had nothing to do with it.

Or 'poetic justic', or 'karma', or anything else that is disrespectful, unnessicary, and frankly, stupid. Also, re-read what I wrote.

I doubt the asari are that populous if I have to be honest. See, a normal Asari won´t usually have children untill she´s 200-300 years old and even then I doubt they get more than the average human (and humans breed at a much earlier age).
And as opposed to other species the asari can´t really get "accidently" pregnant, it´s always something they have to choose.
Oh, it´s also important to remember that eventhough they are the oldest species in galaxy they are still not the most populous, so if they really wanted to breed all the other species away, they would have done so a long time ago.

Maybe you should be more worried about the krogans, but so far Bakara/Eve and Wrex seem to keep them in check (if they survived that is).

And I don't think that meme is as witty as you think it is.

In any story, ME3 included, discussing moral balance and just desserts is wholy appropriate.

Take the asari, they were more than happy to spend thousands of years imposing their view of "how things should be" on the rest of the galaxy.  It is fitting that they should meet a dramatic, violent fall.

Yesh, they should. The Asari kept if from the rest of the Galaxy and unnessecarily stretched out an grueling, violent war. They should be kicked on their asses and off the council at the very least.

You actually make me a little bit sick.

You don't like some perceived attitude you imagine a race has, so you think it's fitting that millions die and a world burns.

Wow.

So, we should punish a whole race for something their government did.. Alright..

Yes. Reprimand, public apology, some kind of monetary reparations to the other council races, loss of prothean-derived technology patents, disclosure of any other classified prothean-derived secrets, and the Temple of Athame should be open to research teams from all council races.

Yes, no, and yes.  In that order.

Yes, I don't like the attitude the asari have.  No, I don't think that's why "it's fitting that millions die and a world burns".  Yes, it is in fact fitting that such happens.

This is actually...really logical and totally sound. It would go a long way towards helping to rebuild, too.

Didn't the Asari refuse to go along with Shepards plan? They kind of isolated themselves up until the reapers started closing in.
