I've searched the forums and the vault to no avail. It seems the only models people like to create are either creatures or weapons or armor. I don't have a modelling program, but I think the custom modules would be infinitely richer if we had models of equippable items like:

book
candlestick
hoe
rake
bucket
crate
specialized holy symbols
mirror
flatware (knife, fork, spoon)
chalice
bottle
turkey leg

If there are models or hakpaks out there that have these items I'd really appreciate a link to them. Thanks.Image IPB

I've seen a rake - even if it points up...

There is a pack out there but I think it is classed as a special effect rather than an item - sorry I cant be more specific but someone around here knows - sooner or later they will see your post :)

I remember where I saw it - The Nexus - check in the NWN2 "uploaded" section

They are VFXs :

Yes the VFXs are cool, but it would be good if we has a working candle or lantern. Also an ordinary bag, sack, or basket being carried in the hand would have all kinds of uses.

There was an equipable lit candle (it replaced the torch) in Dark Waters.

The chalice, bottle and book models are already in the game, although there aren't any blueprints for them. And the bottle has the origin of the model in the wrong place (as does the spoon for that matter).

You've just given me an idea to expand my 'Handy VFX' range though. I might experiment with the candelabra models and see if I can create a VFX out of them. The great part about model VFX is that you can offset them to correct for model origins in the wrong places. You can also offset visual effects to have the various candles in the candelabras lit, as well as add a light effect.

I have the sneaking suspicion that those models will prove too big and clunky though, and not fit within the hand. The downside to model VFX is that you can't scale them.

I remember the NWN CEP did this well, with many of the miscellaneous items set to the torch item type. They even had a baby, which got casually flung about as creatures scratched their heads and yawned.

To add to the list:

Shovel
Waitress' tray with drinks
Live Chicken

SoZ gave us a staff variant with a shovel head (although its delicately etched patterning looks a bit too fancy for the average dung-shovelling commoner).

DannJ - how do you access the book model? I'd like to use it. Thanks

I use it as a model VFX, and apply/remove the effect to characters via scripts. You can see some quick script examples in the Handy VFX entry on the Nexus (see Morbane's link above).

The models that were meant to be equipable all have file names that begin with "i_", if I remember correctly. There are quite a few of them lurking in the game files that were never implimented.

Handy VFX is handy. I had it not only up and running, but integrated into something else in about two hours. Most of that time was integrating into other scripts I was using.

Here are some equipable books I made:

They use the dagger as a template however, but they are definitely equipable. There are 4 different appearances as well.
