For some reason sometimes when I try to launch ME3 it just refuses to launch. Whether I start in Origin or from the ME3 icon in Windows, the game gets to using about 850 KB of memory in Task Manager and then doesn't do anything.

If I terminate MassEffect3.exe and try again, sometimes it works. Most of the time it doesn't. Sometimes, I can terminate Origin.exe and then launch ME3 and that will work, though sometimes (like tonight) I can do it over and over and the game refuses to launch.

      512MB GeForce 9600 GT (EVGA)    51 °C
• Hard Drives: 244GB Seagate ST3250410AS ATA Device (SATA)    34 °C

• Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

EDIT: Oh, and when it finally does load (reinstalled Origin, though the Origin servers seem to be down), and now the sound doesn't work after the EA/Bioware splash screen! Wonderful!

Three times in a row the game launched fine with no sound! Now it won't launch again! I don't know whether it's Origin or ME3 itself, but this is driving me nuts. This is like 45 minutes of messing around with this stuff tonight!

I'm having an even worse time. Neither Origin nor ME3 will launch for me, and this was after I was playing it last night.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot next time it happens, though it's not much of a permanent solution because I need Origin for Multiplayer.

Agree with you, it is not a permanent solution.
It's just in case you cannot launch the game, once launched, you'll put it back

Worked beautifully. Of course, I still had to launch the game six times before the sound worked after the EA/Bioware splash screen, but at least it was launching!

Nope, nevermind. Doesn't work anymore. Game still stalls, refusing to launch.

FWIW, I know it's failed when I click the ME3 icon in Windows 7 and it "launches" then the icon disappears again, as if it's not running. (Though MassEffect3.exe is running in Task Manager.)

So far, this is working. But these things seem to work for a while and then stop working.
