All they need to do is raise the wave "budget" and raise the maximum enemy cap from 8 to about 12 at one time.

like someone prewiously said, question is wether or not they want to do it, but wether or not everyone's systems / consoles could handle it. as it is gold already is taxing for the consoles and alot of the bugs and glitches are either a direct or indirect result of that, Same goes for PC. Also when you increase the amount of enemies. It is not just the amount that gets increased. You need to keep in mind, the space they walk in changes, which in turn leads to increased need for

A.) more resources needed for the Swarm A.I.
B.) Pathing needs a rework, as there is less space to occupy, as it is, you can already see primes and atlasses and brutes get stuck on gold from time to time in some of the less spacious maps.
C.) The spawn mechanics would also need a rework as when you increase the amount enemies in a spawn, they extend outwards, so seeing when ever a spawn happens from the other side of the map, is not ideal. if anything it just begs for a missile.
D.) Related to B and C. there is only so much room the enemies can occupy, if say the spawn spot in FBWhite behind the console room, is too small, the enemies could end up spawning inside each other, or pushing each other out of the map, which in turn would need more work.

so its not just a simple "change a number" task.

You can't use Missile launchers. That would probably do it. Easy enough for Bioware.

make waves 1,2, 4 harder, like they did with the geth on wave 6 by putting a prime in it, just add more waves and a must to extract in order to get your credits= extra bonus for full extraction, that all with no revives possible, that means your team mates have to beat the wave to revive you and by not extracting you wont get money but huge xp

I would guess...

A new "large" enemy to focus upon. The Reapers get a Harvester, the Geth get a Colossus, and Cerberus gets... Uh... I dunno, a Harrier? Sure. Flying in the sky, being annoying. Perfect.

In addition to that, I'd want to see the shield and barrier engines make a return, giving us mini-objectives to get past certain groups of enemies. I'd also want to see more varied spawning so we can't simply manipulate where they come from and pick them off.

Really, though, Platinum difficulty is simply a band-aid to a problem that can't really be fixed. The difficulty isn't a matter of finger-twitching skill; it's a matter of resources and patience. Once you have Gold figured out, it gets easier because you have it figured out, and your weapons/upgrades have prepared you. At that point, you want something harder. If you get it, great-- until you adapt to that as well. Then you'll want something harder.

The cycle cannot be stopped.

New Mega-bosses.

Reapers: Harvester
Cerberus: Upgraded Atlas. Now Black with a red visor, x2 health and shields.
Geth: Reaper-Code Geth Prime. Now Blue with sky blue eyes, shoots 6 rounds instead of 3 with the Geth Prime switching targets. Regular armor, x3 shields.

On platinum level, I would like to see... me with a level X Hurricane. After that, doesn't matter what enemies they have. They will still all bow down to the 'cane. Of course, the bowing will be done under force.

But seriously, why not have 3 factions, all fighting each other? We would be one of the factions. Imagine the mayhem... Also introduce the Blue Suns and Blood Packs as enemies? Reaper destoryer?

But really seriously, I need more upgrades to the 'cane.

Imagine the lag your computer or console would have.

i'd like a harder single player too... i just completed my full trilogy play thru and i had to keep checking if it was on insanity lol.

ME1 and 2 are harder simply b/c of the gameplay being a bit goofy (things like being able to move while reloading make huge differences in feel).. but damn ME3 was just so .... easy...

I always put games on the hardest mode they can be on, and ME1 i had on easy and still got rolled.. mainly b/c the controls were sluggish and blah so that doesn't really count.. but still ME3 is just too easy!

I figure they are getting ready for a harder MP difficulty with the release of the new equipment.. things now go to 4 and we also have the permanent gear slot now

Remove "trooper" level enemies like Assault troopers and replace them with Centurions or whatever counterpart each race has. Make objectives harder (Eg recover 4 items rather than 2, capture multiple intel points etc) and decrease the amount of ammo given by crates.

Those recover missions are so bad given the spawn system MP has... I've shot a rocket at a group of primes, to literally watch 3 new ones spawn in front of my eyes.  Fair?

I know how the spawns work, based on location of the players and certain spots of the map, just saying it's like... i just tried to clear a path so we can walk thru, but 3 new primes spawned in my face.. gg

I once kept cleaning a spawn off cannibals with my trusty crusader on wave 3 pizza delivery. they just kept respawning as i killed em, ended up dropping 31 of them on my batarian guy before the deliveries were done and the spawner stopped. this was in hydra, i was at the very left side from the spawn, and facing the end of the long corridor, they kept spawning behind a crate. got the 25 shotty kills, 25 kills, 20 HS medals on one go there :D been doing it ever since. easy XP boost for my team mates if there is one who needs to level up.

I want friendly fire. Maybe there could be some restrictions to this, such as powers, but I would definitely wanna see it. It would add an all new layer of team coordination and strategy without simply pumping up the difficulty and number of enemies. That's what platinum would be about anyway.

More credits. Say around 200K. A Special Premium Spectre Pack that's only available if you've extracted from 5 Platinum matches that has a guaranteed 2 UR's and no character cards especially blue ones (that I keep getting for no reason).

However, to extract, as has been mentioned, you have to complete wave 12. A survivor wave where it's hordes of mooks, no bosses. Nothing in the ammo crates. And there's no way to kill them all. They keep spawning and you just have to survive for 10 minutes.

Hope you have a lot of consumables left over and some serious AOE powers because if you die you lose the entire match's rewards. All XP, all credits, and all your consumables (that you didn't already use). It's an all or nothing in Platinum. High risk, high reward.

 A gameplay experience like Dark Souls. Punishing, unforgiving, glorious.

Higher credit reward wouldnt hurt either.

Yep, based on the credit jumps between difficulties
Bronze = 1500
Silver = 30,000
Gold = 75,000
Platinum should be in the area of 150,000 - 200,000 maximum credits per completed match.

Endless mode. Progressively harder.

Not sure if it would be Platinum but I'd like an endless mode.

Wave 516 :D

Also the cash for the Objective waves will keep increasing.

Instead of getting instantly revived after every wave, you get a little more time and you have to go revive your fallen teammates before the new wave starts.

Instead of banshees, you get gigantic rick roll dudes, instead of brutes you get asari pole dancers. instead of atlasses you get ED-209's instead of phantoms you get phantoms of opera, instead of primes, you get megatrons ;D and instead of pyros you get these

Image IPB

every archway becomes a potential trap.

and instead of activation objectives where you need to wait, you get the objective hacks like in ME1 :D bring back the old hacks :P

and instead of package delivery you get an actual pizza delivery when playing vs. cerberus.
