Those mods often end up being nothing more than fan-service, it doesn't mean introducing those mods would suddenly make the game any better. Some of the most popular mods I've seen involve you sleeping with every NPC available, that doesn't mean it's good--it's just some people get off on seeing those pixels.

It's mostly why those mods end up appearing nothing more than pixel porn, such as "anal" or "******" mods which just make the romance scenes ridiculous. The DA team doesn't show the romance to get people off, they show it to demonstrate people loving each other.

Nudity and sex everywhere for no reason serves little purpose.

No one said anything about 'sex everywhere for no reason'.

And if I want my pixel to be naked, why shouldn't he/she be?

Not to mention that No one said anything about them being "good"  or "poor" either...just that they're insanely popular, which is what we were discussing.

You didn't?  Seriously?  of course it's natural.  it's also completely natural to enjoy viewing such a thing.  It's called eye candy after all.

Eye candy? and here I thought that was what porn and strippers existed for. but I guess if you can't afford that, watching your fantasy pc run around in the buff is a totally natural substitute, right?

And I'm saying popularity doesn't matter in the argument of it being introduced in the game.

Yes, I removed the part that wasn't important to my comment, keen observation. You don't think my joke is funny? Oh no! Your opinion is so important to
me... If you didn't think there was any childish hummor in DA:O or DA2 then you're pretty oblivious.

You post on the forum you open yourself to comment. Whether my opinion is important to you is irrelevant. It is important to me. I never said there was no childish humor in DAO or DA2 I simply said show me the examples since you made the statement. And no I am not oblivious
Thanks, I had no clue. Yes, your opinion is irrelevant, that's what I was attempting to get across in my sarcastic comment. You never said there
was no childish humor but you said that nudity for the hell of it was childish so if the games humor is already childish why not add nudity for the hell of it. Well, since you said you aren't oblivious I guess that means you aren't.

trying to make. The point that it's everywhere in DA2

Referencing the mod argument that most frequently downloaded mods involve sex / nudity, which is about sex everywhere for no reason. Hell, click on the projects button at the top of the forum and you'll find almost all of them are about mindless sex.

And if I want my pixel to be naked, why shouldn't he/she be?

Fan-service, silly and the game wouldn't acknowledge it anymore than current game mentioning your character in skivvies (aka, not at all) and does nothing for the actual game itself. In other words, serves no purpose.

This topic isn't about 'sex everywhere for no reason'. it was a point being made, nothing more.

And if i want my game to be silly, have fan service, and walk around naked, who the hell are you to say I can't? I should be able to play MY game how I want. Running around naked is hardly pushing some great, insane limit.

That's fine.  But that wasn't what we were discussing.  (by we, I mean myself and the poster I was quoting)

Something else that happens in The Real World, instead of your delusional one.

People like to be silly. Also, we like eyecandy no matter what medium we're participating in. I wouldn't expect you to understand that, though. I doubt very seriously you've ever seen a naked person.

Then play Saint's Row 3, there's a game which doesn't try to be serious and you can get your jollies off.

But in DA2, Anders with that Stank coat on...ugh. Can we at least take off the coat!? It must have reeked to high...uh, hades...All that running around in the heat. Slaying dragons and blood mages. Rolling around in DarkTown. Then here he comes with that...yuck.

Yep.

All companion outfits  in DA2 (save for maybe Isabela's, since it gets a lot of air lol) must stink pretty bad.  They wear them day and night for 10 straight years, after all.

Mine didn't. I modded my game.

But seriously the same outfit  crap was one of the BIGGEST downfalls of the game.

I have. The right. To play my game. Any way. I like. It does not affect YOU. It does not hurt YOU. YOU do not have to play it the same way. YOU do not have to run around naked. YOU ALSO do not have the right to tell me I can't.

LOL, how cute. You're a child because you can't handle something as small as sex in a video game and can't form an arguement with any merit whatsoever.

I said that? could've sworn I said the act of getting nude just for fun was unnatural.

When you can disagree but argue another my viewpoint without resorting to talking like a five year old then you may call me child and I may stop laughing at your attempts to make me look such...no I won't. Posted Image

Another option is to stop treating video games like the todler of entertainment media and let developers do what they want without Fox news having a tantrum. As it stands the romance seems are ridiculous . If they add the option to get your character naked and you don't like it then guess what? Don't undress your character!

Again, there's no law that prohibits different forms of media from bleeding into each other.  Some books, for example,  have fantastic stories.   Does that mean, then, that Video games aren't allowed to also have  them?

Ditto with this entire Nude/sex discussion.  Both television and print media contain sex and nudity, so does that mean they've got the legal lock on the feature - that no matter what, video games  (the other form of media) cannot, or should not, also have it?

Silly? The act of being weak in intellect and foolish? I won't question your expertise on that subject, I digress.Funnily I was thinking the same thing about you but in my version I put the word 'real' in front of naked. You can doubt and believe what ever you want, I don't write or read fan fiction anyway. My God, I didn't think suggesting the option of nudity would get people to cover their ears and scream unnatural. Nudity isn't a big deal, if you can't handle nudity you shouldn't be able to play a mature game.

The most intellegent people in the world are the ones that will be silly at the drop of a hat. Insecure pompus dill holes are the only people who think, to be consdidered intellegent, you have to act like you have a tree up your ass all the time.

I doubt you read much, to be fair. Well, outside of SUPAH SERIOUS FOR REALZ REAL SUFF. BECAUSE FICTION IS FOR STUPID PEOPLE WHO ARE STUPID.

PSH, don't be stupid. The porn she reads  is PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE, DAMN IT.

The rest of us all are SICK ****S, but her sex life is only written, so it's totally okay! Even the ones with the pictures, but she has to cover those sometimes.

You do have the right to play the game anyway you like it, that's true. However, you do not have the right to ask for features to play the game the way you like it without arguing against detractors. Fascination with running around naked for no apparent reason does not appear as any reasonable desire for a feature introduced into a game is my opinion, prove me wrong other than "WHO CARES".

It does not affect YOU. It does not hurt YOU. YOU do not have to play it the same way. YOU do not have to run around naked.

You're right, I don't. However, I can still judge the feature and determine if it was nothing more than a waste of time. Look at all the arguments on these forums about preference, half of them argue features in the game they dislike as complete wastes of resources and time. Does "WHO CARES" work there?

I love Dragon Age and DA2. I love all three Mass Effects. And I, in fact, would not actually run around in the buff.

Then why do you even care? [cwutididthere?]

But if I wanted to? Who the **** is it hurting?

If I want to play a silly game of Dragon Age, why the hell do you care?

Because not every game has to cater to every whim and every niche. If I started a thread saying I wanted to play Dragon Age to have guns, the excuse "IF I WANT TO PLAY DRAGON AGE WITH GUNS, WHY DO YOU CARE? YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE" wouldn't hold much grain of salt.

So? I don't have to get your permission, and I don't have to give you a reason. If I want to run around naked, I can. For no other reason then I want to.

So don't do it. Don't use it, don't play it. If it in no way affects your experience, then you don't have anything to complain about.

I love Dragon Age and DA2. I love all three Mass Effects. And I, in fact, would not actually run around in the buff.

Then why do you even care?

Because I have the right to if I want to. Because I'm sick of people screaming and crying every time this topic comes up, and you know what? One day I just might decide to. If I'm not hurting you, I bloody well should have that right.

But if I wanted to? Who the **** is it hurting?

And who does it hurt if they do? Does it affect your game? No. Does it hurt you? No. Does it take away from your experiance? No. Does it screw anything up in any way for anyone else?

No.

There is a huge differance between allowing us to strip a character fully and introducing guns into a medievil game, and if you're going to stretch like that, then there is no point in continuing to speak with you.

Yes.

All  forms of media are nothing but  vehicles for expression.   Visual media  happens to be the most popular media today because  its ability to properly present/project that expression surpasses all other forms of media.

That brings us to sex/nudity.   if the media is going to deliver it to me, then I'd much rather *see it*, than just read about it.

On one hand I feel if rated M games are ever going to actually be considered the rating for legal adults, then nudity should not be something developers shy away from. The M rating is the gaming equivalent to film's R, then why shouldn't nudity exist...at least in moderation.

I don't think being allowed to run around naked is the best implementation of nudity. However nudity for the sake of dramatic effect, or as the culmination of a romance could be justified...so long as it is equal among genders. To just show a topless woman would reek of cheap perversion, and make the medium look juvenile.

I agree.  It's why I felt the ME1 sex scenes were well done.  The Liara sex scene in ME3 was close to this level though Shepard had underwear.
