on the xbox when you use melee or archery do u just lock on then auto-attack or what?

wot i mean is like do you click ,say x, to attack or like have a cursor and move that onto enemy with the right stick

You hover over your target using the analog or directional keys. (Arrow / Stick thing.) You select auto attack or any option for that matter using A. You have 6 hotkeys which can be changed from radial menu, and everything else can be selected from one of the various options in the radial menu. Selecting a target is done automatically and if you want to change your target you simply hover around (I reccomend pausing with radial while doing so, makes it a lot easier.) til the name is selected, then press A.

k thanks for the info also does that mean its WoW style with skill moves aswell

I wouldn't call it WoW style but using skills is done from a hotkey, yes but it can also be accessed (and if you play a mage you will be doing this constantly.) from radial menu. Melee attacks are instant to a certain extent, mage spells are either projectile time based. EG Fireball, or cast time based. EG mass paralysis.
