Let me set the scene. You have just performed a great act which impresses those above you. Your leader and mentor decides it is time to reward your hard work by making you join their ranks - you will become a Seeker like you've sought to do for years now. Just prior to the celebrations in your local Chantry, the veteran Seeker pulls you aside to talk in private.
"I never thought you would progress this quickly. You make me proud! I couldn't have found a better pupil. With some reluctance I will have to stop acting as your mentor, young Seeker, for you are now my equal. But you can of course come by at any time if you have any questions or feel in the need of sparring, just like always!
Now, before you go out there to meet the crowd, I have a gift for you. A possession I've longed to give to someone in a situation just like this. It is a knife, not magical, yet still not just any knife. This knife has been carried by the Hero of Ferelden, the Warden-Commander in Amaranthine, and it also served Hawke - the Champion of Kirkwall. Now it will serve you. My gift to you today is the Murder Knife."
(Diplomatic) I humbly accept.
(Snarktastic) A mere dagger?
(Bluntness) Looks useful.
This!!!!
We need our own little quest. It deserves to be developed just like any companion because it is a loyal companion!

Using the murder knife is
addictive. All of my wardens come across as psychos thanks to the murder
knife. Killing the injured soldier seems particularly unnecessary, but
its too fun not to.
I have this problem too. Sometimes I wonder if the Murder Knife holds a spell over me, like a Desire Demon trying to seduce me...
I mean, Isolde wasn't able to fight the temptation to Murder Knife her own son Connor...makes you wonder.
