I second that reapers are the hardest. Most of the rare fail to get to extract wave on gold for me is against reapers pub or private doesn't matter. Lacking a OHK is a big part of it. Rocket troopers cannot compare to ravagers.DatFeel wrote...
Stunlock is annoying, but Reapers are definitely more of a challenge.

Geth are definitely harder in my opinion. Reapers get 2nd place, then Cerberus.

Between the Hunters' shotgun that acts more like a machine gun than a shotgun (2.25 shots in 2.85 seconds, seriously?), and can shoot when staggered/stunned.
Rocket Troopers lock on automatically, and often shoot two rockets, bringing you from full health/shield to half a health bar instantly, yay.
Geth Pyros have to be close to start firing, but once the trigger is pulled, they outsnipe snipers. The damage extends 2-3 times the animation, as well as damaging you significantly before the flames even reach you.
Geth Troopers and Geth Primes occasionally get the ability to shoot around corners (Troopers, more often), and just shoot right through your cover (Prime, mostly)
Turrets aren't that big a deal, other than the questionable deployment of them.
Little genuine difficulty, simply cheapness. Every Geth cheats in some way.

I always play unknown/unknown, so it's imposssible to choose a class that fit with geths. Anyway, the best thing against any enemy is a good team that work together. Against that there's no stunlock strong enough..

Do you see the problem? I don't face the same trouble picking an engineer and getting Reapers. I might not be as effective as I could be, but it's not the same by far.
Everybody else has already pointed out why Geth are cheap as opposed to hard so I won't repeat it now.

Case in point when properly specced Turian and Batarian soldiers can damage and stun lock groups of Geth by spamming proximity mine and ballastic blades. Claymore human soldiers are also effective as the Geth like to get in close. If you're hosting play as a vangaurd and on silver at least you're unkillable vs Geth.
The Geth hysteria on here is absurd. Do they stun lock? Yes but they need something to make up for lacking any OHK units.
They are just most annoying faction, not the hardest imo.
My Vanguard tears them appart and my soldier shoots them to oblivion. BUUUUUT the Geth Rocket trooper? That guy is the most annoying thing in the multiplayer. He shoots homing missiles that are REALLY hard to dodge and runs away like a wussy. Atleast with Nemesis you can dodge the attacks, but not with this guy, even cover doesn't always help.
And when it lags, the geth stunlock gets really annoying, because you think you have control over your character, but you really don't... nope. You just can't use any abilities.

-- in simpler terms its easy to just camp against geth in a good cover spot, proven by FBWGG and why it has been popular. also they dont have any insta kill moves.
reapers on the other hand have banshee's that flush you out with marauder's and ravagers just waiting for it to happen to blow your head off. if the banshee's dont flush you out then the cannibals chucking nuclear grenades will get you out of your hole.
IMO on gold reapers are the hardest, mainly because of banshee's especially when it feels like they never stop coming in the later waves. i have beat them on some of the harder maps but im not implying it was easy or a push over by any means.

The only reason Mauraders and Ravagers are an issue is because of Banshees flushing you out of position. By themselves they aren't much.

You can tell which ones are a real threat on an random/random/gold :
Cerberus : Phantom and Turret. They are slow and Nemesis, troopers and guardians are jokes.
Reapers : Banshee and ravager to a lesser extent. The rest is pretty standard
Geth : Hunter, Pyro, Rocket, Geth Prime turret. That's just 80% of their units.

Geth may not be the hardest for all players and classes and loadouts, but they def rely on the cheapest tactics overall, and that makes them the most annoying enemy to fight overall. BE's and CQC classes can help melt Reapers faster, Stasis and crowd controlling wpns can stopgap Phantom spam w/ Cerb- eliminating most of their crutch, tech users and Geth HM give you a great upper hand vs. Geth, etc etc.
To me Reapers are only harder cause of random instant magnet hands, and Banshee's at times inane teleport range and ability to port through obstacles and grab you before you even could consider the possibility. That to me is the only non-Geth 'cheap' thing in MP for me- everything else I could describe as 'cheap' can likely be attributed to the Geth as a faction (and before anyone points to being grabbed as you revive by a nearby phantom or banshee or w/e- geth that have already encroached ur corpse will just knock you back down w/o much choice on ur part anyways- its effectively the same cheapness that more just has to do w/ revive's anim being too long and open).

My point is that the balance is unequal between factions as when you do randoms and see Geth you sigh because you know its going to be more annoying then any of ther other factions. No one is saying its hard, it's just worse fighting the Geth then the other two factions.

Said this in a previous thread today. Pretty much my opinion is that the majority of players simply arent as comfortable with the playstyle and builds good for Geth as they are with Reapers/Cerbs.
I've never had a problem against Geth, before and after they were buffed. They're a close second with Cerberus for easiest faction for me.

Engineers IMHO are the best weapon against the Geth, with the right weapon.
Our friends matches last evening in silver and gold I ran a FQE with a turret set up for max damage, Hurricane IV, my buddy was a Geth Engineer with his Turret spec'd the same Geth Plasma Rifle, Jade was the map on gold that put our team to the test for whatever reason, my lord it seemed hard however we made it through using very few consumables.
If we synergize as a team, which can be hard in PUG's and use powers that compliment each other matches go much easier in my experience.
