I think they have created a wonderful world with DragonAge.  It would be too bad if we had to leave it behind.

Do people appreciate DragonAge?  Or do you want a new series?

They'll probably be working on a new series soon since ME has been concluded.

Lets make this clear Bioware. I've been along with you on a long ride, lurking in the mass of faceless consumers since your previous incarnation, Black Isle Studio. And in this time i can honestly say Dragon Age 2 is probably the weakest game i've ever seen you guys put out in the last decade. It reeks of a rushed project to high heaven and pretty much every aspect of it, partly excluding the combat system and a few other tidbits, was inferior to its predecessor.... But by Andraste's burning ******, you have made a world i never want to leave. Even with the dread of the ME3 endings still hanging over me like a shroud of levitating tumors, i still believe you can create another classic that will expand upon and cultivate the world of Dragon Age. This time, after all, you wont have ToR and ME3 over your heads while developing.

Oh I definitely think they should stick with it. The lore is excellently crafted and interesting. It would not be worth throwing that away due to one subpar gaming experience.

All is not lost.

I appreciate the series and DA 2 didn't ruin it for me (it could have been a lot worse and they could have ruined it in many worse ways.)

I don't see why they can't do both.
Alternate between making a Dragon Age game and something else.

I love the Dragon Age universe, I can spend hours just reading the codex. I also hope to see more Mass Effect games (but no more Shepard).

I appreciate Dragon Age quite a bit, and would love to see more of the franchise/universe.

If Bioware ventures into a new project, I'll certainly give it a gander, but I'm mostly interested in DA.

o.O

I absolutely adore both the Dragon Age and Mass Effect universes. If they come up with a third compliment, groovy. But I'd love for them to expand on DA and ME.

Why can't they do both?

They can juggle both, as long as the other isn't a massive mmorpg. To me, it seems like DA2 suffered because of the higher priority ME3 and ToR was given. Thing is, the DA and ME universes are the their first original worlds besides jade empire. They wont throw them away easily.

I love reading the codex and just "fall" into the world of Dragon Age, as i mentioned i want to see that you can choose which race you want to be (i m sure many would be interested in being a Qunari) But i m already happy with the basic (which i found after bitter dissapointment in DA2 is lacking)
But to be honest, even though the graphic is not the best, i LOVE "The Elfer Scrolls 3: Morrowind" Sometimes the walk was anoying, but its one of the things that made it great, i think, one of the only things i would have changed would be that i can affect the price of items. But all the books i could read!!! All the stories and folkslore in this world!!! For me a good story is important, That;s why i like Dragon Age.

There's a ton of DA lore, Bioware can't just leave all of it untapped and go to another universe.

There's so much more to explore in Theadas for the franchise to not have several more installments. Hopefully they can come up with something more than mages vs. templars in future games, or the franchise will feel tired.

I think that they have had some rough patches, but that there is plenty of potential for great games in the future. I say keep it, and don't blow the whole thing up like Mass Effect.

I like the intricate, detailed world they have created, the DA universe is too well set and has too much potential for interesting stories to just dump it because of one lackluster game. That said... DA3 will be a defining moment for the series, if it turns out to be DA2 Part 2, then it might be time to turn out the lights on the project.

Before DAII, I would've wanted more as well. Now, however, I'm fairly content with seeing DAO as a mostly standalone experience, with its expansion and dlc's being something of an extended epilogue (or maybe even a sequel of sorts) for the non-Ultimate Sacrifice universes.

Assuming they can once again make something that comes close to the level of quality of DAO, I'd say they might as well start over on a new universe (unless they decided to effectively retcon DAII). That's how I'd prefer most BW games to be anyway; standalone, without any false promises of choices carrying over and somehow mattering, since it's apparently too difficult for them to pull off properly, and it does seem rather confining from a creative point of view. I'd rather have meaningful choice & consequence within the game I make said choices in.

Also, to the guy that mentioned Black Isle near the beginning of the topic, those guys reformed into Obsidian, not Bioware.

The lore is laid out for the DA universe and I do enjoy reading the books that Gaider puts out, but any game that has the name Dragon Age attached to it will always be measured up to Origins. So, unless they go back to the Origins formula, they would be better off starting over with a new IP that doesn't have any certain expectations.

I'd really love them to sink everything they've got into DA3. All the feedback etc that they got for DA2 and ME3 can really be put to good use (even the 'wah wah wah'ers made some good points.....sometimes :pinched:) and I really think they can create an excellent game with all the good bits of DAO and DA2. I'm well aware that different people like different things but there were some universally hated things with both that they now know to avoid.

Bioware create, IMO, some of the most detailed stories, characters and lore in the gaming industry today. They really stand to 'redeem' themselves with the next game and I hope it's Dragon Age.

They need to pretend DA2 never happened and start again. As long as they insist on dragging that dead horse around, it's just going to leave a putrid stench all over the franchise.

They haven't made a great game since DA:O and that was in 2009 so I don't think it really matters at this point.

I disagree - if they pretend it never happened they'll never learn from the problems people had with it, and the things people loved. Blinking something out of existence because it wasn't as popular as it's predecessor is a bit silly...

True, I believe Bioware has learned lessons in reagards to games (DA 2) and endings (ME3)
