Who exactly benefits from having a shorter cloak duration?

Last time I played with 3 infiltrators, on gold, the host made the "mistake" of setting the enemy as Cerberus ... so I just went Asari Vanguard and topped the scoreboard by some 40k points *shrugs*

Aggro-dump? Big whoop - all ur scorez are belong to me (or something, yeah).

Cloaking drops the fire you take if there's another target, People may have noticed while playing any other class with 3 infiltrators on the team, they take fire all the time. This change takes some of the pressure off the other guys.

Out of curiosity, since the given reason for the nerf was over-representation (whatever the root causes may be)... how many people are allowed to play a given class? Do we get a popup saying that the class cap is being approached, and continued play as this class could lead to nerfs? I mostly goof around as Engineers or Sentinels mind you, so I want to make sure I'm not next on the chopping block.

If the reason infiltrators were played so much before was simply people liking the class you'd have an argument, but the reason so many played it because infiltrators were way more powerful compared to the other classes

I doubt you're going to see much other class nerfing soon, maybe Kroguard with a Reegar :P

5.2 duration...just make it 6 seconds or hell even 5 seconds, I hate it when number arn't whole. 5.2 please, where did Bioware get that number. Yes, I know % increase creates the 5.2.

Btw, the indoctrinated nerfer trolls just happen to be some of the most knowlegeable and skilled players of the game. I'm sure their well reasoned balance suggestions were just made up on the fly so that they could nerf the one class that you enjoy. A class that could not be in any way, overpowered, because 33% of the people playing Gold felt it was needed to complete a match without failing.

On topic, don't like the shorter base duration? Then spec for duration at rank 4, it's really not rocket science.

Heaven forbid we actually have a well balanced power that requires the player to put some thought into how to spec it.

Actually, it does exist if you cloak and run away.
It also exists if you DON'T cloak but run away anyhow. Any class can aggo dump if they really want to.

While some of the people making suggestions were reasonably doing so. Not all of them were, and certainly not all were knowledgeable or skilled. Furthermore just because a person is knowledgeable or skilled does not mean they are able to actually escape from the top down ideal of balance. By this I mean often times skilled players don't see an issue because their skill insulates them from it. Good players are always going to be good, however they are the minority and balance based on what they are able to be good with overlooks the majority which are those on the middle ground.

Ye-es but thugbert isn't a nerfer, he ONLY wants to nerf infiltrators; he IS the "aggro-dump guy" - so don't pay much attention to anything he says on TC really.

The people who bombarded the forum for weeks were the ones who benefited from it, the vast majority of the playerbase who didnt give a ****, well who cares what the majority thinks(most nerfers way of thinking)
Bw benifit to, less completed gold matches=less in game credits floating around, more people buy stuff with real money

Again, this to me has zero effect on snipers but it had a huge effect on my shotgun/melee build especially at early levels and then pretty much forced me to take the 150% duration because the shorter base time constantly expired as I prepared to close range something which was a rude shock. They only took one type of build into consideration with this nerf.

I still think the bonuses should be on pistols and smg's. I still can't picture infiltrators (by its own definition of the word) carrying a shotgun OR sniper rifle. Especially a sniper rifle.

Well those of us that know better, know spending real money is pointless since you are still dealing with a random store. Better to just play another Gold match.
