I bought DAO: Collectors edition.

Installed it

Went to /redeem to enter all my lovely codes

Started game to download the content

Hit Log in

You are not connected to the internet..........................

BUT I AM

tried manually forwarding all the ports needed and still no connection. WTF

Why sell someone a game with options when the servers wont let you log in?

No official or unofficial help?

Thanks for letting me waste my money on a collectors edition I cannot use.

Really really bad customer support as well as a useless product development.

Over 5 hours and nobody at all from Bioware seems to care about it's customers.

Still no help from Bioware/EA on getting the game to recognise I am connected to the internet.

All ports (TCP and UDP) have been opened for access and still no log in.

The BioWare "help" area guarantees at least one response within 24 hours. At least, that's what the website says. I waited for a week - then my sister used a fix from the forums that made the game work internet - or no internet. Two weeks after posting my problem - they said "we are working on it".

So yeah - the support page hasn't been too dependable.

However, many game errors have been popping up for me. I'm not sure if this is due to disabling the internet connection or not. Still, it's something to consider before you start messing with your game.

Then again, this internet errror makes it impossible for some people to play at all. So...we are caught between a rock and a hard place...as it were.

I'm getting the same problem after reformatting. Oops.

Glad to know it's not just me. Pissed that EA failed. Their customer portal isn't even responding (in a very literal "page not found" sense)

For future reference, it looks like the specific setting that EA's server doesn't like is ECN Capability. If anyone else has this problem, open an elevated command prompt (run as administrator) and use the following:

netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

This works on Vista/Win 7 machines, not so sure about XP though.

Best of luck folks

I have attempted to fix this problem with the help of tier 2 on the phone for two hours, and several emails back and forth. I have also disabled the ecn thing, as suggested. My internet connection is still not seen by the game.

Thanks

I'm experiencing this problem as well ever since 1.04 came out. The weird thing is that I CAN login from within the game and it works - but not from the menu. Try starting a game and hitting ESC, then in the lower left corner login and enter your information. For me it works - but if I try it from the main menu it doesn't...
