I just replayed my "destroy" ending so I can't comment on the other ones, but EC irritates me.

Nice that I get explained why Kaidan is still alive and not cooked by the reaper beam. Nice to know why Joker flew away as well, but for the rest I just felt like taken at a hand like a child.. "come now, you're too inexperienced to think for yourself, I'll show you how things are".. I prefered the vague, mysterious ending.

And then those "Harmony-Baby-Krogan"- Images OMG !!! Like Jehovas Whitnesses flyers (No offense).. my Shep always saw the Krogan as a major threat to the galaxy, and now.. that ?!? (Still convinced the Salarian Councilor was right..)

What happened to the good Bioware endings like Dragon Age 1, where the Dwarfes isolated themselves after you made the seemingly right choice to make Harrowmont King...?

Harrowmont and Bhelen were carefully crafted characters, to the point that the twist at the end makes sense because in retrospect you can see that Bhelen, while a ruthless jerk, has a talent for leadership, whereas Harrowmont is old and set in his ways.

Point being they were always intended to be this way, whereas the EC epilogues are tacked on and take the most obvious route because.. well, what else is there? What do you want, a twist where Wreav is actually the better leader than Wrex? That'd make no sense.

I guess it may not have been adaptive as it could have been considering renegade characters' deviations throughout the games. I enjoyed it and prefer it to the original. Most of the dialogue with the catalyst did come off as Shepard being slow to understand but those clarifications were definitely needed, it was just a matter of how the dialogue was written.
One thing that is a possible flaw, if not in the writing but the catalyst's judgement was the current state of synthetics versus organics if you brokered peace between the quarians and the geth. However, you could take that as verification that the reapers purpose is no longer true, but I digress

Nope... At least the EC gives some insights about the consequences of the Red-Blue-Green-Shoot the brat choices...

Not this nonsense again.

People who can think for themselves are the ones who have the most trouble with the ending. And you admit yourself that it was vague (but it wasn't mysterious) so there was no thinking involved, only guessing - dare I say it, speculation? The point of a story is to tell a story, not tell some of it and leave the reader to make up the rest himself. If I wanted to do that I'd write my own. Leave the guessing for "what happened next" rather than for tying up the loose ends.

EC is definitely an improvement.... At least the game looks complete now ....

But its too little too late... Game went from atrocious to mediocre...

for some reason I sort of feel you ( I always picked destroy/ breath scene) I've seen the other endings and they seem to be somewhat complete. Destroy is the only one that feels imcomplete somehow. For me it 3 things
1. Refuse gets you the all out Reaper win (ok I can respect that you for sure know you lost)
2. No full out Victory fleet win (ok that's kinda understandable most people would probably pick it cause it would be a complete story)
3. No reunite scene/ you have to head cannon....a bit lame not even a small reunite scene. if this is indeed the end of my Shep story I don't want hints or head cannon give the full story.

Now all that being said I was not a fan of the Pre EC either but I was looking forward to seeing BW add scenes to Destroy ending and when they gave a sorta ending (and don't get me started on EC with ME2 LI's) that was disappointing

This. Game was incomplete without the EC. Now we can just **** about the terrible artistic vision of the ending.

No, the ending (it was only 1 ending) before made no sense. Now they make more sense and feel like an ending instead of random images that had nothing to do with the series.

Haha. No. Seriously though -NO!
EC is average minus. Nothing more then polishing the original ending ,pouring over it litres of high sucrose corn syrup and taking out few especially ugly-looking bits.
But even this is better then the original steaming pile.

Well, no.

The original cut was atrocious, the EC is... less atrocious. Would this have been the original ending, there wouldn't have been such an uproar. It still wouldn't have been good, because so much else is amiss, but at least the endings they gave us are now somewhat complete.

Though the only one consistent with the story and themes of ME is the new "refusal" ending, when you refuse all options or shoot the Catalyst.
